I honestly thought he was going to destroy someone that night! In fact I swear he thought it was me.....

Vixpy, you can be truly scary at times!

Adam BGT, don't go, it'll be cold and windy

It's got to be somewhere that is less desolate and with less history of bad weather. I am quite seriously never going back to Snetterton in my life if I can help it. I've never even heard of, let along seen, good weather there.

Can I respectfully suggest to the people that want it even farther North in order "to be fair" that the location should really be weighted by density of members. If TVR ownership is anything like a yardstick then there are simply more members in the London, Thames Valley and general "South" than North, so the location should reflect it.

What's the point of having it farther North if that means that 65% or more of the attendees have a long journey as a result? You'll just get an under-attended event.

Edit: Thruxton would be good. I could cope with Silverstone too.

I think something similar would be good, just as long as its not raining - ill also take longer tent pegs. Oh and id appreciate it if 'bob the strangler' didnt try to kill me again wink

What about somewhere like Shelsley Walsh - Not exactly North (south of Brum), a hill climb course for a change, and (I think) ample space for camping etc? (Also not exposed like Snett)

or prescott.

Wouldnt unleash you lot on Loton Park tho... far to pretty there for the unruly masses. hehe you'd worry the Deer too much.

tho how about avoiding motorsport events, as it seems most folk just want to get pissed in a field.

since i'm in the Camping and Caravanning Club... i can always find out where they hold their rallies - plenty of locations that would have decent facilities... and wouldnt mind the normal rowdy behavour that goes on. tho a standard camping and caravan club site wouldnt have it... they have a 'please be quiet after 10pm and before 7am' rule)

I do like the idea where it's tied in with an event. Wandering around the paddocks at Snetterton, what with all the activity going on was quite interesting. I watched far more racing than I thought I would, it's a nice distraction.

Track time is a good idea, although I think the weather put this year's participants off, a dry day I'm sure would attract far more.

Big Field?
Racing?
Go karts?
Concours Comp? (bit of competition never goes amiss)

I'd just really like to know what venues have been shortlisted....

then how about http://www.beechwoodparkleisure.co.uk/

close to Donnington. has a go kart track (possible to go round without having to brake, trust me wink )

used to stay a few time... but prefer Hill Farm, which is nearby, but i dont think it would suit a pistonfest - there only being one toilet/shower in the same room (tho a portaloo could be brought in - http://www.portakabin.co.uk/portaloo-hiring.html )

September? Are you crazy? We got the coldest bank holiday on record in May, if they do it in September it'll probably snow.

I say end of July, southern Spain, just to be on the safe side.

As i've said before... September is often a great camping month. ground still warm from the summer, dont get the scortching hot days, but the evenings are often cloud covered evenings mean the temperature doesnt fall off like it does in July and August. smile

You're quite right - Silverstone for Britcar24 was a darn sight warmer than PF at Snet in May!
