Mine has cracked by one of the speakers, but I also have a 5cm+ crack at the top! I've barely used it, and it's always handled with care... It's just a rubbish material (hence it'll happen again).

I'm going to sell it and maybe get a second hand iPad 1.
If you're going to sell it, you may as well get HP to replace the case and sell it straight after.

Yep, that's the plan. As soon as I get it back, I'll get it sold.

I have to admit though, I've gotten used to being ultra lazy and leaving the laptop downstairs, using the tablet upstairs... So I'll likely buy an iPad to replace it!

Mine cracked and HP were a total nightmare. Sent it back to them and it came back exactly as I sent it. All they did was knacker my screen protector.

I Ebayed it and bought an iPad.

They were great with me despite a postcode mix up. Though there's distortion from the speakers every now and then since it came back. I turn it off and back on and it dissapears.

Dont get me wrong it was a great device. I used it all the time so I knew I would get my moneys worth from the iPad. Others have also had good service from HP. Just unlucky that mine was crap.

Have they redesigned the case ? I read on the Webos forums that people were still getting cracks after 2 or even 3 replacements.

I'm not sure to be honest, if it is different it's very subtle. The curve on the side may be slightly more angled.

Is there any way to run a presentation on a TouchPad and hook it up to a projector? From a quick google, it doesn't seem like you can, but I thought I'd ask!

Unfortunately - No. Picsel Smartoffice would run the presentation really well, but there's no video output circuit available.

I have to say - I am looking at moving on.
Whenever I use someone's Ipad (1st Gen to 3rd Gen) is appears so much slicker and FASTER.
I was surprised to see that bundles (I have the 32GB, Cover, Touchstone) are reaching £175 or so on the Bay.

I am going to / from the USA a bit at the mo and £400 will see me in a 3rd Gen 32 GB Wifi with case.

Mine is totally surplus to requirements too, but you can't technically sell for more than fire sale price in a lot of places. I'm thinking of selling mine as a bundle, and would probably be looking at around £185 for the TP, Keyboard and Touchstone.

Doing alright over here. In fact, other than a very minor hairline crack in one of the usual places, its been serving me well. A few niggling problems with numerous websites but it should happily keep me going until either the beta of the open WebOS or a 99% complete version of Android runs on it.

I should say, I have absolutely no problems with WebOS, and think it's great. In our house though, with a MacBook Air, an iPad2 and a HTC One X, there's just no need for it.

The WebOS seems slow to me and loads web pages really slowly.
Hence why I have been tempted by the Computer Fruit.

LOL, actually that is a part issue.
I have a free company BB. I wish I could tether the HP to it. I can't.

The Playbook may have been a purchase in the firesale if it wasn't for the HP I bought.

So I am now (much to my own personal disgust wink ) hankering for an Ipad / Iphone content, however have promised that if I were to become a typical Apple user and become a disciple or evangelist to the brand, I will birch myself every night with a USB cable.

Ipad is more expensive, yet I am pleasantly surprised that the resell of a 32GB TP, Case / Tombstone is north of £150, and I can bring back an Ipad from USA - dollar for pound price, I have yet to figure out a way to self supply an Iphone when the company only gives out BB's (or possibly stty cheapo HTC's)

I talk myself into it then pull myself up thinking spending £400 on a Handset is madness - when I get a free BB (plus the ballache of IT giving me stty looks to make it work)

After a couple of previous attempts with Android on my Touchpad, and being largely underwhelmed with the results, I gave CM9 Alpha 2 a go yesterday.

Initial impressions are that it's really good. The wi-fi issues that meant that the connection wouldn't re-establish once the screen lock kicked in are gone, the apps store works well and overall it has the feel of a device which could have been designed for Android in the first place.

If I'm honest I still prefer the WebOS UI, but there's a lot more to play with on Android, which makes it a bit of a no-brainer now (still no camera though).

Been pondering installing Android for a while now. I'm guessing the only real benefit are the apps? I quite like WebOS and don't really use it for much other than internet browsing really. I'm not sure if this is because WebOS is a bit limited or after the initial app download I'd never use them again anyway!

Does the Touchstone dock work with Android? Assume you would lose the Exhibition mode as there probably isn't an equivilent under Android?

Have they finally made it workable then? Or are there other little niggles? I am very tempted, as it may mean I use it a bit more!

I love WebOS though. It's great to use, but has no apps for it.

The more recent nightlies have made it very usable; the wifi bugs on the last official release drove me nuts however I've seen no evidence of this being a problem now.

I get a few sound oddities with the fairly recent nightly I'm using but other than that, works a dream.

However I'm now considering selling my touchpad + accessories as I think I was something smaller.

Edit to add, I much prefer using android over webos - chrome works well as a browser and I've not had it fail to render pages like the webos one does. I like the fact I can get the google reader app/gmail app/google+ app all installed and they work well on the tablet. There just wasn't anything that worked that well on webos (or if there was, I didn't find them/buy them).

I was going to ask about this issue. Anyone know the cause / cure?
