Macbook Pro Core i7, late 2010 model
Connected it to my TV with a mini displayport to HDMI connector.
Now my built in sound has disappeared.
I tried the reset PRAM thing, it didn't work.
The built in sound is not appearing as an option in the sound section at all.
Any ideas ?
What do you have in the Audio MIDI Setup window?Connected it to my TV with a mini displayport to HDMI connector.

How do I get Finder to search subfolders.
I have a folder, with many subfolders. In each subfolder is XXXX.part01.rar. When I try and expand this with RAR Expander it prompts for the location of the part02, repeat many times. Not feasible.
What I want is a way of essentially displaying *.rar in a certain directory, allowing me to Cut them into another directory from which I can expand the archive.
This seems to be impossible!

You just put all the rar parts into the same folder, then run Stuff it Expanded.
Set Prefs to expand in same folder.
If that's what you're doing already, then there's a problem with part 2 - try redownloading, just in case it was corrupted (highly unlikely IMO)
Thats the problem, I have 30 subfolders, each with a part of the larger RAR file. I need a way of getting them into one folder. In windows this is a case of CTRL + F, typing *.RAR then ticking 'Search sub folders'. This then gives me a list of files I can copy and paste into one folder, ready for expansion.Set Prefs to expand in same folder.

I think this is my first case of 'Jobs, you , why can't I do this really simple task, really simply'.
You know it is simple, don't you? 1) Navigate to the folder containing the folder containing the .rar files.
2) In search bar put ".rar"
3) Choose between search mac or the folder.
I even made a mockup for you.
Folder "1" containing folders, each with a .rtf file in there, named differently.
Whilst having the main folder "1", do the search, and select "1" rather than "mac"
Job jobbed.
