If you go for the reboot approach, make SURE you have your account prefs set for auto log-in!
But before that, have you tried Set up BT devices or turning the BT off and then on again?
Checked BT preferences?

Not heard of MPlayerX. The difference seems to boil down to personal preference; here's a comparison video:

Does anyone know how easy it is to upgrade the RAM on the latest 27" imac? I'm going to order one soon, I'll save money buying the 8gb ram model and buying some from crucial.
Yes, removable panel like the older iMacs, but which Apple dropped from the 21.5" for some reason.

Not quite.
iMac C2D (late 2009) with 8GB RAM, playing Iron Man 3 (.mkv) at 34 minute mark when Stark's house is attacked.

VLC – 45% CPU 160MB real memory
MPX – 3% CPU 53MB real memory

Skipping and scrolling through movies with MPX is instant and just perfect, VLC is jumpy/laggy and not very nice.

Not exactly scientific, but over the years, I've been less impressed with and needing to call upon VLC.
MPX has very rarely ever put a foot wrong.

Interesting; that's basically what that video said. Older hardware - choose MplayerX, as VLC can struggle. Newer hardware, pretty much down to preference. VLC is you want more stuff to tweak & like the fact it's got a playlist, MPlayerX if you're not bothered.

I've never see VLC do that on mine.

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 - it's a Network or download error, scroll down to that heading and click the triangle beside it to open up the info.
Follow the suggestions there to getting it up and running.

Apologies if a repost but 45 pages are a lot to look through!!

Ipad photo transfer

Want to transfer to PC all the images on the ipad. Have done the 'photos' part from the headings ok.

Photos Photo Stream Albums Places

How do i transfer to the PC all the stuff under the Photo Stream tab? ( stuff that appears to have been sent to the ipad from other phones and via WhatsApp)

I can transfer them to the photos section one at a time, but there are 906 of them!!!

Any quicker ways i can do this

Thanks

Ron

Have you tried this?

Then for future ease, allow iCloud to update Photostream on your PC.

I've got quite a few MP4 files that I want to put on my iPhone, but if they're about 1.5GB or over, it says they can't be played on this iPhone. There's plenty of space available on my phone, so what's the size got to do with anything?

Size may be something to do with Apple wanting users to have a good battery life, so that could be why you're seeing the alert.
Assuming you have the file already in your iTunes Library, then simply highlight it and right click or from the File menu along the top, choose Create new version for iPhone/iPod.
See if that shrinks it and lets you sync it across.

Alternatively, if it's not in iTunes, then download Handbrake and use it to create a version for the iPhone/iPod – custom settings or the in-built preset.

Any decent ipad password keeper/manager/generator with autofill that will also do the apple ID for getting apps? Going through the various ones at the moment and none seem to tick all the boxes.

Probably find there is one already there.

Hopefully this is the right place to post this, but my Macbook is being odd...

When I try to go on the internet, whichever browser I use (Safari, Chrome, Firefox), it is incredibly slow - Accessing my NAS is fine, so I can only conclude that either there's a manual DNS setting I need or there's something else going on. I've set up the google DNS servers and disabled IPV6 which has made no difference.

Can anyone suggest anything else to try?

Thanks

Got a 2011 Imac, since yesterday we've not been able to open Finder. All that happens is the spinning beach ball thing and a message saying it cant open Finder - 10810.
Had a quick look on the net and found this -

http://utvv.blogspot.co.uk/2010/01/how-to-fix-appl...

So after following that I have finder open but its not usable, as you put the mouse onto the open Finder folder you get that spinning ball again. Move it off and the ball goes. I cant seem to close Finder now either.
Any (very) simple ideas/how to fix please?

If the above doesn't work, then there might be files missing or borked.
Simplest solution is to download the combo update from Apple, or if running ML or Mav, grab that from the App Store and re-install.
