You can never, ever have enough torches.
No trust me you can. You have no ideaForget all the expensive ones I have and the moderately expensive ones I have approx 25 of those 2.99 ones I bought 20 in one go as they were cheaper stuffed in every pocket and every car and every bag. And a spare in case they run out or somebody else needs one.
It's an illness
Know what he means. Despite currently hanging my nose over a Fenix PD35 Tactical it didn't stop my 12.99 punt in Lidl on their 10W Cree torch. Runs off 3 Duracell C batteries included.
Took it out on last night's dog walk alongside the automatic goto Lenser T7.2 and it held up well. Beam control on spot focus isn't quite as good, but it's a bigger LED in size so that's expected. It throws quite well right to the other side of the field, and on flood not much to choose between it and the Lenser.
Still going to have the Fenix...

Any recommendations on head torches? Basically, I need a torch for when I'm walking to work, usually carrying a suitcase, backpack and sometimes an umbrella. Therefore wont have any hands free to hold a torch.
Anyone recommend a solution for this? Doesn't have to be a head torch, but something similar. I'm going to invent a backpack with lights built into the arm straps, but in the mean time what's the best option?
I'll be walking through a country park that has no lighting, so it would be good if it had good, wide reach and bright enough to light up the way 10m ahead.
Appreciate the advice.

The lights we have bought for the bikes comes with a headband (which we never use) and a rechargeable separate battery back:Anyone recommend a solution for this? I've just picked up a TM16 from gearbest's euro warehouse - bizarrely it's a chunk cheaper than from China. I wanted a very bright torch for night sailing.
Anyway for £76 delivered (it arrived in two days) it's possibly the best all rounder I've ever used. IPX8 water-proof, 700m range, yet amazing flood. 4000 lumens of instant sunshine. The only downside is that it's a chunky little fella.

Don't know if it's any good.
Nitecores version has loop over top which is probably more comfortable

This torch being at 90 degrees I'm sure you could find a way of clipping it to your back pack straps

I'm tempted by this. Is there any adjustment with the flood to throw beam? Think ALPKit are normally recommended? I have a LED Lenser one, a few years old & not rechargeable but pretty good all the same, adjustable brightness & 2 AA's.Anyone recommend a solution for this? Google around I have no experience with that particular model. There might be alternatives. There are a few right angles torches. Having said that you can't go wrong with Fenix Winner!

Seriously though my TK35 has served me very well the last 4 or 5 years but this looks like a good step up.
Any suggestions on decent batteries? TK uses 123s.
Just ordered this: http://www.torchdirect.co.uk/professional-torches/...
Seemed to be a good mix of power and portability, hope it lives up to the gushing reviews.

Yeah exactly I love my tk35. Perfect balance of size and power and batteries last forever. Still very pocketable.popped in twice and spent a load of dosh on stuff I don't need. 3 more torches Seriously though my TK35 has served me very well the last 4 or 5 years but this looks like a good step up.

Confused though as I use Panasonic 18650 protected. About £10 for two at places like bangood . Com
Never used 123s in the tk35

Re batteries for the other poster. I ordered some nitecore batteries from china (gearbest again) as they're supposed very good.
UK I would use Torchythebatteryboy on Ebay as he sells panasonic / sony / cells rebranded.
