You cost me money on the 7.2 last time.

Thanks though :-)

Just ordered 5.

As a former Lenser fanboy I have to say,

"5?!?!"

My 5 torches arrived today - SK68's costing £1.50 each. Not sure what I'm going to do with them - I've already got a range of xxxxFire 18650 lights on glovebox duty for every car in the household. Stocking fillers maybe.

I was asked to be a fireworks marshall last week at the kids' school and was asked to bring a torch. Stumbled across this off Amazon for £8.95. Back up to £17 now. Great little thing, good 100m throw on spot mode, nice big pool for light for close up. I want another one.

Just spent 208 gbp, damn you thread.

OK tbh that was increased by also setting myself up on 18650s, including XTAR VC4 charger and some batteries.

Still got one head torch to get. Gearbest looks a good price but variable feedback.

Fenix TK51
Thrunite TH10 headlamp
XTAR charger
Some 18650 batteries

Still to get either another TH10 or a Nitecore HC30.

I have one of these. Pretty good and I paid £9 for it plus a charger and 2 batteries.

I've ordered a few things through Gearbest, I don't want to jinx it as I've got two more orders that I'm waiting for from them but I've had no issues (including with the HC30.) The last order took 9 days from ordering to arrival which is pretty good. I wouldn't be shy about using them again.

If you've not got one already and end up going for the HC30 I've got a decent discount code for it from GB. Message me if it's any use.

And unrelated, but once the expense of Xmas and new winter tyres is out of the way that VC4 Charger is on my wish list, looks like a great bit of kit and is a bit more flexible than my existing Nitecore i2.

At risk of sounding snobby the Gamma isn't in the same league as either the TH10 or HC30. I have an Alpkit Manta, the bigger brother of the Gamma (or it was) and it's a useful camping light, but for anything serious it quite literally doesn't hold a candle to the 750-1000 lumen offerings above.

Funky colours and design though. I do like Alpkit stuff but their lights aren't the greatest, even at the price.

Thanks for that offer, will let you know. Wanted to test the TH10 first.

Stuff all ordered late on Wednesday evening, the TK51 from TheTorchsite this pm, rest arrived at 5pm. VC4 is plugged into the USB port and charging away so will be able to test stuff tomorrow night.

Also unrelated but ordered 450gbp worth of Nokian Weatherproof SUV today.

Can anyone recommend a good walnut torch display cabinet. I've got a few keepers incoming that I want my mates to envy when they come round.

Also can anyone recommend a beater for less than a bag of sand.

Hang on, all of your torches have batteries in them..?

Everyone knows that the best torches are wind-up.

Well, they don't work as well, they're not as bright and you have to service them regularly, but the tactile feel of the precision machined winding mechanism, the ruby (it's a real ruby!) set in the coil spring, the military-spec retro-modern Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene encasement...

... They're just better and I won't hear different. La la la la la la la

Myself and a mate are involved in something of a torch arms race, the barsteward has just gone and bought a Lenser X21R, which would have been my next purchase. Any advice on what to buy now to outshine how, so to speak.
