Well, I mean, its not my fault is it. They put these things on e-bay and I find that I actually NEED them.

Now she wont agree as she'll say what's different to the other 14 torches.

All I know is that some time in January I will be the owner of another 12,000 lumens for £22.93 English pounds.

Free delivery from t'other side of the world, although interestingly I was offered 24 hour courier delivery for £599!!!!
Well.......not entirely sure I have 12,000 lumens ( I never expected to be ) but I do have a nice new headtorch and 2 rather nice additions to my range of budget brightness. The bottom one is particularly nice.

Happy shining.

Mm kay...perhaps I had too many sherbets before I pressed 'Buy', but I now have just had delivered an intelligent charger + 4*18650 Trustfire batteries instead of the 4*12500 batteries that I thought I'd ordered, so the questions are:
1) anyone want to swap 4*18650 for 4*12500 Trustfire or equivalent. Or,
2) what is the best torch for a sensible (cheap!) price to use the blasted things in. Must be mega-floody!
Mega-floody?

What's the verdict on this? Rubbish or worth a punt? I've got a 24 hour relay race in in the summer and this could be an impressive upgrade from my Petzl Tikka

A little assistance required please gents.
After reading through a lot of this thread and looking at websites I'm still after some advice.
What I need is a small torch, requirements are.
About the length of a little finger
Runs preferably on AAA
From Amazon (I have some vouchers)

It's to slot into my Leatherman pouch in the elasticated bit holder.

Over to you...

Not bad. An XML is only good for ~1000 lumens, so theoretical best case you're looking at 2000 lumens total. Realistically I'd say more like 7-900 total if running on 18650 batteries (they are connected in parallel, so have to be very careful and I'd advise only using protected cells). If running on AA or AAA then ~4-500 lumens I'd say.

Just got myself an unusual one, an Olight M20 Crimson.

Red LED for use in night ops when I'm out as a flood rescue technician.

I'm getting a new helmet which has picatinny rails so will mount it on the side.

Red LEDs are much more efficient than a red filter on a white LED.

They're a rare find as they're discontinued, but found an ex demo one from Dragon Supplies for £20!

Dropped into this thread a few weeks ago as was after a small, decent quality pocket torch and saw the Fenix LD11 recommended. Can't be bothered to scroll back to see who it was who said that but if it was you, thanks - I'm very happy with it. Impressive little thing for the size and the battery lasts yonks.

I'd best leave now, seems quite an addictive topic....

Done, cheers. The 'moonlight' feature sold it to me.

You wont be disappointed I'm sure! I have a variety of large, small, dim and bright torches, and the thrunite is always on me. I've done entire weekends camping and just not bothered getting any other torch out the bag, because it's versatile enough to light up a reasonable distance, yet light enough that I can hold it in my mouth instead of finding my headtorch. Battery life is pretty impressive too.

For the sake of 7 quid I ordered one of these as well.

Gus can you recommend me a decent pen torch please? AAA or AA not too fussed. Will be in my top pocket mainly for looking in cabinets.

Is this any good?

I didn't even know what an 18560 battery was until seeing this thread.

Just bought a BLF A6 to get me started, hope I'm not disappointed.

I'm sure, based on my ti3, that it will be excellent. Just get the neutral white version, much nicer quality of light!

The UI is a little fiddly; otherwise you'll only be disappointed by finding out just how bloomin' much you have to spend to get anything better than the A6!

That's encouraging to hear. Spent £38 including the batteries and charger. It'd be wasteful not to find something else to make use of them wink

Tip for the A6:

Turn on then off quickly. When you turn it back on it'll be in turbo.
Easier than half clicking back.
