The torches above are for little boys and gays. Real men use dive torches.
This is a beast:

One of my diving buddies has one and I put my torch away when he cracks it out. Like the bloody batman signal... Should only be used underwater as it gets so hot! Needs a separate battery pack!

I love torches.
Last count I had 8, ranging from a tiny LED incorporated into a Tool Logic to a Mag-Lite 6 D-Cell. (Anyone would think I was expecting a zombie invasion or something.)
However the one which punches well above its weight for compact size, lightness, brightness (200 lumens) and battery life (130 hours from 4 AAA) is the Lenser P7. But, this is the best part of £40.
The Klarus looks like a decent bit of kit - my only concern being battery life. But what the hell - I may get one anyway.

Why did you have to show me that website. Don't need any of it but I love all that stuff.http://www.heinnie.com/Flashlights/c-1-97/
ETA: PS - Don't overlook the fact there are multiple pages for some of the manufacturers! (I missed that first time)

Quite easy to get carried away.
So far I have an LED Lenser T7 for work - 200 lumens, lightweight but feels substantial, very nice clean light output with good throw and I've yet to come across a flood to throw adjustment that is as quick as the Lenser one. And it runs on AAA's. If I lost it (it doesn't seem to break, despite my clumsiness) I'd buy another in a heartbeat - it is literally perfect for work:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenser-7439TP-Tactical-Lig...
For home use/running at night I've got an Ultrafire WF501B (running on an 18650.) Bought one and I was really impressed - a very good central hot spot with some usable flood - perfect for running along dark country lanes. The flood isn't great though, and for round the house use (fixing under the sink etc) it's just too bright. For about £7 though I can't complain:

For camping and general round the house use I've got a small head torch which is much better than I expected it to be. Feels cheap and plasticy but can be adjusted to point further up or down and has a very good balance between flood and throw.

Plus a 6D and 4D Maglite which when I get around to it I intend to do a ROP Hotwire build on.

I was originally heading for a P7 but got swayed by the review I mentioned. Not used it enough to comment on battery life, but who cares....they're only AA's.The Klarus looks like a decent bit of kit - my only concern being battery life. But what the hell - I may get one anyway.

Ooo, I like that sort of deal and will visit that virtual emporium shortly. Good recommendation!
As an aside, are Duracell actually the best batteries to use in these little uber-torches?
Edit: they also have Power-Stations AA alkeline for £7 for 40 delivered? Which should it be....or both!

ROP hotwire?
ROP = Roar Of the PelicanA bulb made by/for "pelican" torches which will glow more brightly (at cost of decreased service life) when more voltage is put through it than originally specced. The wire filament gets even hotter than normal doing this, hence "hotwire". Too many volts = instaflash and a dead bulb....
ROPs are easy-peasy bottom end hotwires, but I fell out of love/bother with hotwires since it became obvious that these days LEDs can easily achieve "bloody hell!" levels of light for much less cost, hassle, (much) longer battery life, longer emitter life, more knock/damage resistance. I've kept the 1,300 lumen 2D cell maglite I built, for old times sake, but have just sold the rest of my pile of MagMod bits.
BUT.... I kept the Mag as LEDs just don't set things on fire like a hotwire
Don't go to candlepowerforums unless you feel like spending money....

That's just the sort of advice I need!
Some loopy doopies are on their way!
Also, don't forget that your new torch will be 'regulated'.Some loopy doopies are on their way!
This means that, unlike old Maglites etc, the brightness does not dim as the batteries lose power, they maintain the same level of brightness until the batteries are flat. This often means no warning that the batteries are about to die (although some torches flash etc just before this happens).
So if you walk your dog in the dark, it's a good idea to keep a couple of spare batteries in your pocket, in a little case, like this:
There are loads on eBay.
