Right thats it. I have swung round and round and now have decided the next phone I get will be the N9 in white. Sexy ass phone. Painfully expensive at 700 quid though

Interestingly it was the no 1 selling phone in Finland in October ahead of the iphone even though granted that is the home of nokia in effect.

If it sells that well in most of the countries it is being sold in especially the asian market which is a big market for nokia that could pose a problem for nokia and "dream" force them to reconsider dumping Harmatten"dream"

I will also get the Lumia as an upgrade in late January.

That way I can try both and see which i prefer.
I've been tempted by both, especially the N9. But until they get the camera sorted, it could never replace my N8.

I was soooo tempted with one as Orange was offering a good deal with free Xbox. However I had a play in the 3 shop, looks good and Win 7.5 is smooth but the phone felt a bit plasticky and screen quality/resolution was a bit poor (if you compare it with my iPod Touch 4 retina display and top of the range HTCs).

In the end, I opted for an iPhone 4 (not a 4S) as I got the handset free for £28 a month with 600mins, Unlimited txt and Unlimited data (for first 3 months then 500mb). TBH, Siri and 8mp camera was not enough to persuade me to for the 4S.

This will tide me in nicely until the 5 or 5S makes an appearance next 1-2 years.

I've had my 800 for a few days now, absolutely love it. So much nicer to hold that the iphone, and it seems much more intuitive to use. Only issue I've had was it locking up and refusing to turn on. Solved with a soft reboot and it's only happened once so I'll keep an eye on it.

Well, after getting exactly no joy whatsoever from Expansys, I've decided to fk them off, cancel the order, and get back into bed with Vodafone.

I opted for the galaxy nexus in the end, and not regreting it, ICS is amazing.

You know, I think this is the first time I feel as though I have made the right decision come upgrade time! I went for an N8 about two months ago and the Lumia 900 isn't out yet so I feel as though I've won! Looking at the leaked 900 specs I don't think I'll want to change next time either!

Just bought one of these.....should be here tomorrow, so rather excited! Especially as having dropped the iphone on a concrete floor it is now dropping calls left right and centre to get me back!

Had my Lumia 800 for a few days now and after coming from a apple iPhone 3 gs the Nokia is amazing I am so pleased with it, a real quality feel, more intuitive to use than the iPhone, I would highly recommend it smile

My Mozart certainly can, but the feature can be disabled either by the carrier or handset manufacturer.

You can connect to a laptop via USB or Bluetooth just not file transfer.

My understanding from all the blurb is that the lumia 800 phone cannot be used as a mass storage device hence 16gb being a limiting factor and that if you fill that up you can only transfer your phone data to and from online account to your phone.

Have you done the Windows registry hack that lets you do this? Although I thought this was one of the 'feautres' of the Nokia phones?

Used to be in the symbian age just not in the windows ones yet, if there's a hack or a dodgy app available that may help some willing to do that sort of thing.

It is fairly simple to hack the registry to allow USB mass storage but you have to do it seperately on each computer (obviously). I used to use mass storage a lot in the old N95 days but with memory sticks so cheap and cloud storage so easily available I haven't needed it in years.

With Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) you can tether by WiFi but it has to be activited by the network operator in their version of the software. My Samsung Omnia 7 on T-Mobile has it, so I guess it should be common across most of the UK networks by now.

If I didn't already have a Windows Phone I would be snapping up this Nokia for sure. Very tidy design, good screen, very good camera and built in SatNav as well as all the standard Mango features.

Maybe next year when the 900 comes out, as the only part of the 800 that I don't like is the screen size. 4.3" is the way forward for me.

And lo, CommanderJameson did place his order with the Fone of Voda, and yea, there was silence. It came to pass that the Fone of Voda did email CommanderJameson, and interrupt his feast of lambs and sloths, saying, "Thy phone's stock has become Out, and another will have to be begat by the Nokia, amen."

CommanderJameson spake unto the Fone of Voda, crying "But when will Nokia beget my phone, that thee might enbox it and entrust it to DropitHideitLoseit, that it may appear at my door, to bless me with its cyanosity?"

And yea, there was silence.

And once again CommanderJameson spake unto the Fona of Voda, and there was wailing and gnashing of teeth, and yea, there was silence.

On the third day, CommanderJameson went with heavy heart to the Fone of Voda, and spake unto it once more, and he spake, "fk it. Cancel the fking thing."

And then he ordered one from Orange, who shipped it the same day.

So has it arrived?

Have you checked they haven't just sprayed a black one with blue paint from Halfrauds?
