Disagree, to be honest, at it's given price it's a very good phone, they couldn't dream of persuading the Apple followers into a phone that is maybe as good, but at the same price as the iPhone.
This phone is maybe as good, but at a much lower price.
The difference is negligible on the Samsung and at about £5-£10 per mth difference if you shop around on the Iphone, so it's not that much cheaper if at all. And sorry Nokia do need market share and will have to take that away from Apple & Samsung, this is not the phone that will do that. This phone is maybe as good, but at a much lower price.

Nokia still has significant market share, it's just losing it at a rapid pace.If they can stop losing the share, that'll be enough for it.
On the "this is not the phone that will do that", well I hope you're wrong tbh.

First phone that's tempted me from the Apple universe.....I'd have it in blue. I'm getting a bit bored of the whole iOS interface - shallow statement I know - and Android just looks a mess to me. But I'm stuck on O2 for a while and guess which network hasn't yet said it would be handling them.....does anyone know if it appearing on O2 is just a matter of time?
My situation exactly. I would prefer 32gb but I'll get one anyway, I'm not tied to O2 for any reason apart from preference but I would be suprised if they don't get it.Apparently there is an app in the Ovi store to let Symbian users try WP7 on their phones now. Could be an interesting way of marketing

I have a Samsung windows phone (Omnia7) and although I'm now due an upgrade I have no desire to change. The Windows Phone OS is great, so I truly think that if Nokia market this well (evidence all good so far) then this should suceed.
The job of this range is to get people into Windows Phone and rescue Nokia, so for current WP7.5 users like me it's not gonna make me change my phone. But for the iphone, BB or Android users who are either bored or frustrated it's going to prove tempting.
Once they announce the Lumia 900, then I may consider an upgrade as I'm really keen on the larger screen @ 4.3"

Ok, so how do you get from 420€ (which is including VAT btw), about £370, to £440?
Dunno. But I'm sure I read that €420 is the price before tax an' that. And £370 + VAT is about £440.
420€ is rumoured as the price in the Netherlands, which includes 19% vat. Official prices are not yet released, so maybe it'll go higher.

Problem is My 24 month contract only started in February, so I had to buy my Mozart outright and I'm not sure I want to splash out £400 so soon. http://www.nokia.co.uk/gb-en/products/phone/lumia8...
Can't say I'm too impressed, it's a right ugly bd of a phone in my books, and Windows Mobile is a whole bucketload of "meh". Certainly can't see anything to tempt me away from SonyEricsson, or Sony as they are about to become.
Now how to persuade Vodafone to send me an Arc S even though I still have 6 months of contract to run....

I'm a real android man (SGS2), but how have you come to the fact that WP is a "bucketload of meh"?Now how to persuade Vodafone to send me an Arc S even though I still have 6 months of contract to run....
If anything, it's a very interesting take on how we can interact with touchscreens of all sizes, a bit "out of the box thinking" rather than the "let's make an icon grid like the one in Win 3.1".

Problem is the new HTC is better spec.
Spec isn't everything to everyone.I looked at the Titan, and it's a monster of a phone.
But it looks like every other HTC touchscreen phone. It looks like my old Nexus One. It looks like my HTC Mozart. It looks like the HTC Desire on steroids. They are rather drab, grey slabs.
The Lumia 800, OTOH, does everything the Titan does, but is available in blue.
After all, no-one ever said, on their deathbed, "I wish there had been more grey in my life."
The only issue I can see is no forward facing camera, so Skype, (which Microsoft own now I believe), cannot be used for video calls on it, which seems a little behind the curve. Is it true it only does 720p as well? Now that really should be fine for most people, but again, a little behind the curve? The camera is supposed to be nice though, and should be good for low light.
