Joined Netflix last night and watched a movie and a TV programme. Seems ok for what it is. Watched through the AppleTV and the picture quality wasn't HD but it was watchable.
Not sure I'd use it exclusively as the film selection doesn't look great, but it can only go one way I suppose. I see it as a compliment to the Blockbuster service we have, to watch films while waiting for the next Blockbuster one to turn up (2 disc unlimited on that).

Signed up this morning myself and just watched Armageddon hd, quality is great as I'm using xbox with dongle.
The recent virgin upgrade may have helped that bit along though.
There is plenty of stuff on there that I have not watched before and seeing some of titles so far looks a good addition to xbox apps.
£6 is not that big a deal and by the time I get round to watching anything new it's old anyway.
So for me it's just ideal.

Is anybody running Netflix and Lovefilm together?
I have both currently.Lovefilm: Good library, awful streaming quality. The poor quality image makes it practically unwatchable for me as I use an HD projector with a 105" screen so, the poor image doesn't translate well to such a large screen. Also, there is no surround sound. Image quality may be ok with a smaller screen though.
Netflix: Awful library but, excellent streaming quality complete with surround sound. I must have searched through the offerings for 20 minutes at the weekend and couldn't find a single thing I wanted to watch or hadn't already seen years ago.
Either they need to merge to give us the best of both worlds or one of them needs to step up their game in the area they are lacking. For now, I will be sticking with Lovefilm as they also offer the discs at home service whereas Netflix doesn't so their service will be cancelled.
I will keep an eye on the Netflix library though as, if the content improves significantly, I would definitely sign back up.

Yes I have both too (until Netflix trial runs out) and Speckle is spot on.Lovefilm: Good library, awful streaming quality. I'd add that Netflix seems to contain mostly TV series whereas LoveFilm contains mostly films.
For me LoveFilm is far ahead due to the rental service, which is really excellent; I return 2 DVDs or Bluray on Monday and receive another 2 on Wednesday!

I've looked at signing up to Lovefilm instant. I'm sure it said £4.99 per month for unlimited streaming? Is that likely to change, can I not get dvds sent then, I take it thats only streaming?
Yes, it's streaming only...I think it's another £2pm for one dvd at home per month...i.e.you can only hold one DVD at any one time but you can return that DVD many times a month.
Service is pretty quick for example return DVD on Monday and receive another by Wednesday.
Streaming is very good for me, I've BT BB and have a 40G cap but thats around 30 films a month and it all works perfectly for me, despite reading some of the horror stories on here!
If you are thinking of joining them please PM me and I can get a referral bonus and I think you get a bonus as well.
Hope this helps
Ben
I think I had previously misunderstood Netflix. I assumed that, like Lovefilm, the movies I could browse through were the only ones available for me to watch. Turns out this isn't the case at all.
I decided to have a good look through the Netflix library yesterday using their search facility to search for favourite actors/actresses etc. To my surprise, I have now found at least 20 movies that I quite fancy watching. Some I have seen before and others somehow passed me by. Last night's movie was 'confessions of a dangerous mind' which I had never seen and thought was pretty good.
Now I 'get' what they are trying to be, which is not a new release 'premium' streaming service (not yet, anyway!) Used in this way, Netflix is easily worth £6 a month even if I only watch one movie a week, mainly due to the quality of their streaming.
For now, I think I will keep both. Lovefilm for new release blu-rays and Netflix for the older stuff I may watch on a whim.

After watching a couple of movies this weekend i have noticed that it adds films of similar style to what you have watched.
so i did a little test, i started all the westerns for a minute or so then turned off netflix, started it up again and hey presto, there was a westerns selection added.
Finding this is actually well worth it's £6 value.
