I cant see the option in xbmc to use SMB. When i try and use use NFS XBMC can never connect.
Found the SMB options, I'll plug away with this. Just unsure why i cant connect via NFS

Add Source > Browse should bring up a "Windows Network (SMB)" option, or you can just type in the path to the source, eg smb://yournas
To determine why NFS isn't working, perhaps put xbmc on a pc and see if it can connect via nfs from that? If not the problem would be at the NAS?

Thanks, Got SMB working. Need to re-organise my NAS file structure to make it more XBMC friendly

Is it wrong that I'm becoming a little disillusioned with my Pi? I don't really have the time to get it working (1 toddler, a non-sleeping 7 month old and a full time job) and I'm actually considering sticking it on eBay - something I know I'll regret the moment I parted with it.
Bah - technology, it's not for me...

Bah - technology, it's not for me... Stick it in a drawer for 6-12 months, all software bugs will be ironed out, you will have decent documentation and a lot of knowledgeable people will have had good enough time to work things out.

I'm not far off doing that as I can reuse the wireless keyboard and mouse with my laptop, I can also reuse the HDMI cable with my laptop with the displayport and make my laptop a media centre in the meantime - The best part is that my laptop is a Tablet laptop so I could mount it next to the TV and have it either as a touch screen control or use the wireless things. PIs still seem to be commanding about £50 too - I've just spotted that an RS activation code sold for £21!

If 20 sheets is a lot of money to you then sell it and get a new one when all the bugs are ironed out.

It's not, it's just that it'd be sat in a draw and, as per what normally happens, it'll get broken and I'll end up buying another one. Wouldn't be the first time I've done something that moronic.

I've already got my Pi, but received an activation code from RS if anyone wants it - send me a PM and we can work out how to order the Pi and sort out payment. Not looking to make any profit on it, but clearly not prepared to be out of pocket.

Preorder email came about ten minutes ago.
Yes, I have ordered one.
Time to go do some proper research now.
Could fit in well with my Xperia S, arriving tomorrow, if my DLNA client idea pans out.
