Have a look at Pimoroni's shop. They are down the road from me in Sheffield and reassuringly eccentric.

Windows 10 for Raspberry Pi 2
We’re excited to announce that we are expanding our Windows Developer Program for IoT by delivering a version of Windows 10 that supports Raspberry Pi 2. This release of Windows 10 will be free for the Maker community through the Windows Developer Program for IoT.
Windows 10 is the first step to an era of more personal computing. This vision framed our work on Windows 10, where we are moving Windows to a world that is more mobile, natural and grounded in trust. With the Windows for IoT developer program we're bringing our leading development tools, services and ecosystem to the Raspberry Pi community!
We see the Maker community as an amazing source of innovation for smart, connected devices that represent the very foundation for the next wave of computing, and we’re excited to be a part of this community.
We are excited about our partnership with the Raspberry Pi Foundation and delivering a version of Windows 10 that supports Raspberry Pi 2, and we will be sharing more details about our Windows 10 plans for IoT in the coming months.
This will surely be the version of Windows 10 that is also appearing on the phones; maybe with a desktop environment twist. Which then leads you to wonder why MS aren't actually making a Windows 10 release for those Windows RT devices - which are higher spec than the new Pi.Windows 10 for Raspberry Pi 2

Just found this online - a side by side test fo the new and old Pi

That is an impressive speed increase, considering how people got to grips with the original hardware and found ways to optimise it then it will be interesting to see what happens when software is written to take advantage of all the power the new one has

Well I ordered a mk2, although I've barely touched mk1. However, learning python quite quickly through codecademy, so hoping to do something awesome soon
I'd love to build a "supercomputer", I wonder how difficult it can be

Never got round to getting myself a Pi but think I'll definitely invest in a Pi 2.
For a newbie, is Raspbmc/XBMC still the best way to start?
if you want a media centre, which the pi2 will be much better at then take a look at openelec, TBH just download NOOBs from the pi website and try them both out - subject to space on the sd card you can install multiple OSsFor a newbie, is Raspbmc/XBMC still the best way to start?

If all you want is an XBMC box, yes (it's called Kodi now BTW).For a newbie, is Raspbmc/XBMC still the best way to start?
If you want to explore other possibilities, no.
I would recommend getting the Haynes manual (this is PH after all).

From what i can see so far i dont think OpenElec has a build for the new hardware, Also from what i read the person who built RaspBMC is retiring it and releasing OSMC instead, this has support for the Raspberry Pi2 and is supposed to be even better than raspbmc. I will be giving it a go when my boards arrive
FurryExocet, this is where i got mine - http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/processor-microcontr...
I guess that means I can't just take the SD card from my B+ and put it in a Pi2FurryExocet, this is where i got mine - http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/processor-microcontr...
