Will be ordering a new ipad 64gb wifi to replace my ipad 1 64gb wifi, which will be used as a touch-remote for my Denon 1912.

The apple site is now updated with UK prices, although the link to pre-order is still down...

I will refer to mine as an Ipad 3 as I guess most people will.

What is 'the new iPad' going to be called when the next one comes out? It's a ridiculous official name. I understand numbers get messy when we have something like iPad 23, but we're only on the third generation.

Never mind, I'll take one anyway. I wanted a nicer screen mostly for use with photography. Too bad iPhoto only works with pictures up to 19MP. I guess Sony, Canon and Nikon would be saying 'oh' at that announcement after restarting the megapixel war.
Shame there is no SD card reader slot - I'm sure that would make it so much more useful - then again, maybe not - you have to store multi-gigabytes of pics somewhere and the ipad probably isn't the place...unless they are 'clouded' I suppose.

All you have to do is buy the overpriced SD card adapter cable...

You could always refer to it as "iHaveNoProperName" laugh Seriously, they surely can't leave the name as "the new iPad" - next year it won't make any sense.

Hmm, how much would you get for a 16GB WiFi iPad 2? Tempting to upgrade! The changes are pretty minimal to be honest, but it's new gadget fever!

was reading of a haptic feedback display today that was being vaguely mentioned as possible on this version of the iPad...sadly not then?

Really good prices there, as I was expecting a $=£ price. $699 = £559 for my ipad 3 64gb wifi is a bargain.

I don't think the name for it is new iPad....just iPad.

Guess they're going the same way as iMac and MBP, etc.
