O2 SGS2, nothing doing from my end despite seeing web postings telling me that it was available from O2.

O2 SGS2 update is available, 100%.

I've done it a few times now through Kies (had to downgrade then re-upgrade due to a separate issue.

Nothing on Orange yet, but as they're probably stuffing it full of bloatware, it'll be a while.

Does this apply to phones bought through CPW? Via Kies, my 'Firmware Information' section lists: PDA:KI4/PHONE:KI1/CSC:KH1 (CPW). This is for both current and latest.

OK, having 'spoken' to an O2 person, their response is below:

Scott:The ICS is released but the Carphone Warehouse customers have to wait.
Rick Haynes:Why is that
Scott:You'll have to wait for Samsung to approve the open market variant of the software. Currently we have no timescales for when this will happen but we will let you know via social media and we'll let you know here once this happens.

So it appears to support earlier comments: main carriers get first dibs, unlocked phones have to wait.

OK, quick gripe - this thread is titled SENSATION not GALAXY, so GSS2 users b****r off and use your own thread. It's bad enough that your thread is about 10 pages long (grown up pages of course) yet any Sensation thread seems to peter out after 1 or maybe 2 pages. We are here to discuss the HTC Sensation, not the Samsung Galaxy.

Sorry folks, had to get that gripe out of the way - I'm fully prepared for the bashing that may follow! wavey

Ok, back onto the Sensation, but unfortunately not great.

Since I upgraded to ICS, I have had the phone freeze on my 5 times when trying to invoke the camera which never happened pre update.

Each time I need to remove the battery to reboot - not happy as it usually occurs when I want to take a quick pic and each time I have missed the opportunity by the time everything is back up.

I'm waiting for the ics update to see if it at least gets rid of the annoying ransom screenshots that have been happening since the last update

So ICS landed today for non-branded stock.

Oly glitch was Kies not allowing me to reinstall my preferences which meant trying to remember which widgets I'd placed where. No great shakes.

Anybody else having problems since installing ICS on their Sensation ?

I've got a Sensation XE and updated a couple of weeks ago. Since then I've noticed that on exiting apps, usually when using the home button I get a white screen with HTC on it and when this clears I get the 'loading' box on the screen for a while. This seems to happing more and more frequently.

Since updating to ICS i have been having a couple of problems.
Sometime when i switch my phone on the bluetooth freezes and wont switch on so i swith off the phone and then it says Android upgrading then optimizing applications then starts ok.
This ahs happened about half a dozen times.
The other problem concern's the email which just does not seem to download messages until i come in the house and it switches to wifi.

I've still not had the official O2 update but I've experienced these on my stock 2.3.4 ROM. I assume they are the equivalent of a BSOD and it's just the phone re-booting after a critical system error. Mind you, I've had them overnight so when I've switched the phone on in the morning, it's happened then, so my profile changer, and possibly alarm clock etc would not have been working, or they could have caused it to crash in the first place??

After posting earlier I found a comment online advising to switch of the fast reboot option. I did this and powered down the phone. Got message saying android updating when I switched back on and not had the issue since. Read that a few reboots after updating are sometimes required too

Well at long last my ICS arrived this morning (manual search!). I haven't had much chance to play with my phone today so I'm slowly resetting everything back to how I had it. Hopefully I'll get a bit more time over the next few days to see what's new.

So SXE with Beats on O2 contract should now be in ICS! Yippee!

Anybody else noticed that ICS now lets you play FLAC audio files on your sensation?I had to use poweramp before but now I can just use the in built media player smile

Mine is an XE but I cant imagine it being any different with the other ones tbh.
