You'll feel a strange urge to give them to me.

Give them.

To me.

Give.

Right, so I've had the One X a couple of days now. Lovely phone, incredible screen. Watched a 720p nature documentary on it last night and it was stunning.

Battery life looks like it will be atrocious if the phone is used for its intended purpose. Luckily I'm never far away from a place to charge it, but I couldn't see the battery lasting a full day's use if you use all the features.

It's also big, but light. Feels solid though. It works really, really well straight out of the box and using the Desire now feels a little clunky. Overall, an incredible phone but the battery issue will be a dealbreaker for many.

I got one of these on Orange the 5th, after having had an iPhone 4 with a giffgaff sim in for a while, whilst also wanting to get back on contract and have a change of phone.

Played with it for a few days, but the orange sim has now gone straight into the iPhone. The HTC has great specs, and was pretty good when I was using it, but I just can't get on with Android, not matter how much I want too.

Previously to the iPhone I had an HTC desire, which was ok, but the build quality was shocking. The One X is seemingly much better put together.

Looks like the One X will be going on eBay or envirophone...

I noticed this article earlier, has anyone had problems with the screen flexing on theirs?

I thought I'd grab a screenshot from the programme that impressed me so much:

For a phone, the quality really is stunning.

Hi Funk,
I haven't had time yet to play with the One X (A colleague has one being delivered to my office shortly for me to ship it out to him abroad). I've currently got a rooted Desire and apart from being sluggish from time to time serves me well. Do you think it's worth the upgrade, size/performance wise?

As you know from the Desire thread, I was rooted and running Sandvold's ICS beta. It wasn't perfect (as noted in that thread) but then at the back of my mind I was aware that we were asking 2 year old hardware to do stuff it was never designed for. That it did it as well as it did was quite amazing really.

The One X is streets ahead. Everything is better, aside from my observations about battery life earlier. If you're normally somewhere you can charge up from time to time, it's utterly brilliant. Using the Desire after the X feels very weird. I know some have issues with the size of the X but it's not a problem for me. Not sure I'd want it much bigger though. However, it is slimmer than the Desire and feels lighter in the hand.

How much are you looking for it? I've got an iPhone 4 and tomtom cradle that I'm looking to shift for a One X

Just tried pressing pretty hard on the edges of mine and there is no sign of flex or distortion of the image - maybe my thumbs aren't very strong!

Well I got my One X today. First impressions... It's awesome! Android is certainly going to take a lot of getting used to after coming from iPhone simplicity though.

T-Mobile have blotted their copybook with me; apparently the mobile internet package I had gave me higher upload and download speeds (200Kb/s up and 700Kb/s down). Since the One X is on a new tariff, my speeds have dropped to 500Kb/s down and just 50Kb/s up.

I wasn't told this would be happening, and I'm not happy about it. I spoke to T-M today who say that on the tariff I'm on, I can't even add the Mobile Broadband Plus pack again to get my old speeds back. I said that if their ISP changed their tariff on their home broadband and then dropped their upload speed to a quarter of what it was before, they wouldn't be terribly happy.

I was told to either put up or shut up basically. Poor customer service to someone who was NOT told that a change to the tariff would mean a change in speeds, especially when that customer has been with them for a decade.

How did you record the speeds?

I was worried I might have been given some kind of 'cap', but using speedtest.net (the app), I got 4Mb/s down and 466Kb/s up on mobile data.

This is after moving away from the old £10/month T-Mob contract onto their "new" £12/month jobbie.

I plumped for the HTC One S (which I am extremely impressed with, so far).

Speedtest.net app on the phone.

I've complained on the T-Mobile forum, perhaps someone will notice and give a st. I wouldn't have minded if I'd been informed of those two important changes (one of which has already cost me money).

I'd be tempted to cancel (if you're within your 7-day cooling off period).

It could backfire, and cause you even more hassle, but there is a chance they will re-negotiate rather than go through the hassle of taking the phone back and losing a customer.
