I have to say, mine is Vodafone branded, but I've no issues with it. I never turn it off, so never see the splash screens.

fin racer said: well it's arrived, and I cannot put the thing down! Only thing being I asked for an unbranded phone from Vodafone and was told thats what I would get. And of course its branded. Can anyone recommend a custom ROM? Funk? I'm quite pissed off at VF; I specifically asked about my One S being branded and they said it wasn't. I think by unbranded they mean externally as it's got a fair few vodafone apps, splash screen and theme on it. You can't remove them but you can disable them in setting>apps touch the specific app and it gives you the option to disable it. Very happy with battery life on my replacement handset, gave it it's first full charge overnight and used it this morning non-stop and the battery lasted nearly six hours. The same usage on my Desire and Orange SanFran would have killed the battery in just over 2 hours.

I've been getting a full day out of mine (though I suppose never really using it intensively), and I have my screen on full brightness.

Not sure if it's a known issue but a few of our work phones, HTC One X, are having issues with the VW Golf car kits.

Well that was short-lived. Phone set up, brilliant. Amazing device. Unlocked the screen , lockscreen appeared but screen not responding I held down power button and It's hangs at the htc splash screen. Despite repeated resets It's still stops at splash screen. Now without a phone til Tuesday. Not best pleased but I like the phone enough to give It a second chance

Try this:
Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons
If you can’t turn HTC One X on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC One X.
1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then
press and hold the POWER button.
2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to
appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME
DOWN buttons.
3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and
then press the POWER button.

I considered that, in fact I got into thie factory reset menu. I chickened out of doing a factory reset. I carried out another hard reset, phone stuck at flash screen, then after a life age, screen went dark. Now phone is unable start. I had downloaded a system update but not applied It. Any thoughts?

Are you trying to update with the power connected? If so, unplug it.
Failing that, a factory reset will definitely fix it.

Seriously, a factory reset will sort it.

Funk said: Mine does it a little. But then so did all my other phones. Mine does it probably a little bit more than that, and seems to have one central 'pinch point' in the middle of the phone where it'll do it even just using the phone normally... I can't see a replacement being much better though, but I may give it a go.

Well I've had my replacement, and it's basically the same. I don't think there's any way to avoid the screen flex issue by the looks of things.
I've put mine up for trade, to try and get an iPhone 4S. I absolutely love the phone, the OS, the form factor, etc... Apart from this issue, I think the build quality is pretty good too. It's one of those things I'll always notice.

Can anyone help me getting my old Talk 21 email on my phone? I've managed to get it to download the new emails but it doesn't seem to be sending them at all, there seems to be an issue with the outgoing mail settings. I've followed things on this page: http://www.3g.me.uk/showthread.php?t=97348 but I'm kind of stuck as I can't seem to get it working.

One other thing. The case I've been using has left a few marks on the matt surface of the phone. is there any way to remove these or am I stick with them?
