Not quite. You have to push the boot.IMG to the phone through adb. I'll write a guide. The info there is out of date too; ARHD for the HOX is on 5.2.0.

My case and screen protectors have arrived so I'll be using the phone as of tomorrow. Just need to get my PAC from Orange now.

Let us know how you get on with the screen protector. I've got the HTC leather pouch and I've been quite impressed with it so far.

My battery life is much better than I expected. It's currently at 67% after 18 hours.

I thought you could remove unwanted apps by just rooting the phone with the current OEM ROM? This would void your warranty though, IIRC.
Well they say that ... BUT

I have had my sensation back to HTC twice now! Both times it went back with wrong ROMs (stock HTC ROMs not the O2 locked ones it came with) and incorrect CIDs .. One time it came back with the right O2 rom but still set to super CID, and the other time it cam back as a fully locked o2 phone!

So there not that bothered by the looks of it! I'm told now you can even send your phone to HTC if you manage to brick it and they will sort it for a small fee!

Okay so I did research and pretty much every screen protector falls short of the edges of the screen on the sides. I'm not sure about the official HTC ones but the ones I got are pretty good. They are the same as the ones that Funk has. They do come short by a few mm either side of the screen but I don't really find it an issue. I might have another go with another one as this one hasn't quite stuck down every where, but I do have another 9 to go through. I have only used two on my Desire in two years so I think I'll be set.

If you want to know any more let me know.

Get the Genuine HTC ones (;)) most don't have the cut out for the light sensor.

The sensation screen protectors always stuck better when heated with a hair dryer (until my skin was melting usually) and i always gave the screen a gentle warm before trying to stick them down, always helped get the concave shape to sit better, might help with the convex edges

I've tried both and the genuine HTC ones aren't worth the money. The lack of cut-out for the light sensor isn't an issue either.

The screen protector is transparent. wink

Something appears to have changed with my phone. Up until yesterday the battery use would display how long it was since the last charge on battery.

I then noticed yesterday it appeared to be displaying how long it had been on battery, since switching it on first thing in the morning.

It s not my imagination, something has changed and I'm not sure how I put it back.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Can you post a screenshot?

moved from years of windows mobile use, and not regretted it for a minute. need a few of the app providers to catch up with ICS, (Sky Go especially) and then it will be perfect.

not going to root it (whatever that means) or put a custom rom on there. might look for better software to handle ms office docs in time.

Ok, hopefully this screenshot makes it clearer. You can see in the picture that the phone has been on battery for over 9 hours. That 9 hours is since I turned it on this morning.

If I were to turn it off now and then back on again, the 9 hours would be gone and it would show xx seconds.

I first noticed this yesterday, up until then it had been displaying the length of time since it was taken off charge.

What is the difference between being on battery or since it was taken off charge? Surely they are one and the same aren't they?

Is everyone finding that they can get through a day comfortably with fairly heavy use? I'm thinking the kind of use you would give a phone if you were sat on a train for a good journey, or perhaps waiting in an Airport lounge. Those hours where net browsing/music & video really can hammer your power.

On battery is the amount if time the phone has been switched on since it was last charged and the time since taken off charge is time since it was last charged, regardless of if the phone was on or off.

It's touch and go - unfortunately it cannot be relied upon. I can normally plug the charger on my train journey to London but forgot it this week and it failed on the way back. I had hammered it though.
It's a fantastic thing part from that. I may have a look at the S3 as the battery is getting much better reports.

S3 is premium price now with prices rivalling iPhone ownership.

I wish. Full charge in the morning, usage as above would be down to 20% by 3 ish. Even with a battery saver app.
