iPhone 5: Coming June 2012
Discussion
I normally stay out of this sort of thing, but.... you do know none of this is actually proper confirmed news? Its all speculation, if you look back at the iPad 3 and iPhone 4S launches not a single blog or magazine got it all correct. Basically any tiny rumour was reported, so some people were bound to be correct on the law of averages, but most places even with supposedly 'high up' sources were very wrong! The reason they publish every single little rumour is the amount of traffic it brings to their website. If they're the first with a new rumour, that brings traffic.
Nobody outside of a few key people at Apple and their suppliers know all the facts, and I can't imagine many people at all outside of Jony Ive, Tim Cook and a few other key people know what the new one is going to look like.

erm, we know, its a rumour thread.
I know, I know It's just starting to irritate the constant stream of crap that's normally completely wrong (from previous releases this is). And the people who are publishing the rumours don't care, it just generates traffic to their site. I'll believe it when I see it, they'd be mental to change the dock connector and make something quite so ugly.
They're going to have to make a bigger jump than the incremental stuff to maintain their gap over some of the other devices. Having just been out to play with a few phones (Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X, Nokia Lumia) there's certainly not the gulf of difference there once was in form or function IMO.

Looks like the design is out:

looks good to me! I like the metal sides on my 4S, the glass back less so.
The screen looks to big to be able to use just one hand with, so I don't think that's what the next iPhone will look like. Apple have said they don't intend to make their screens so big that 2 hands are needed to use it. I also remember last year the screen looked huge, in the pictures of the supposedy 4s when it really wans't.http://9to5mac.com/2012/05/29/photos-black-and-whi...

Im concerned about talk of a new smaller dock connector with a new way of charging. Will instantly make loads of docks and in car connections useless and that can't be good
Of course we don't know if this is real or not. But it would be logical, as it would mean that:
i) the speakers have more space as the dock takes up less space.
ii) apple will be able to sell OEM cables for longer, since every man and his dog makes an apple iphone connector and those sales don't benefit apple directly. (They do in terms of support for their product and hence wider adoption, but I think they'll guess adoption will be so wide it doesn't matter, and they want to flog their own cables.)

And now a video has appeared, allegedly showing the chassis in more detail - http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/07/rumored-next-ge...
I do like the new speaker holes, not sure what to think about it being unibody but I suppose it means less damage if you drop it compared to the glass back. Not a fan of the two tone finish either, and I hope it includes a old dock connector adapter but knowing Apple it will cost an extra £15-£20.
I am due an upgrade in Sept but will probably end up upgrading early just so I can get the 5 if it does get announced at WWDC next week and then launched a week or so after. I was one of the folk who queued for the 4s (mainly as I had my iphone 4 nicked 7 months before the 4s came out and was stuck with an old Nokia 6300) and I may end up being a sad bd and queuing again this time round.

I hope they haven't changed the headphone port to the bottom, that would be annoying!
I use the hands free kit a lot in the car and the phone sits nicely in the cup holder which it wouldn't do if the headphone jack was sticking out of the bottom...
Also it looks quite a lot taller which I'm also not keen on. I think some of the smart phones are getting to big especially to use with one hand.
