Samsung Galaxy S3
Discussion
I've been with tmobike for the last 18months and will never use them again, the internet has been utter ste! Despite ringing them with my concerns they just told me to put my phone on 3g only which made no difference apart from no signal when I went into the country. Not much help I'm afraid!
I was having no problem with broadband at home but the network data was terrible. Just been on to T mobile and they said to change network from T Mobile Orange to just the T-MOBILE network. Done so and straight away its shot up to 2500mbps. Anyone with a similar problem should try this.

Ok. Upgrade time from Sunday. Currently have an iPhone 4. However, I am extremely tempted by the S3.
I have a mac and use iTunes for my music. Is it a total pain to sync an android phone with a mac?
Really I want a phone that works as a phone, syncs with gmail, plays music and gives me excellent web access. Also, a maps function that works would be great
I don't know loads about technology but I do like innovation! Seems the S3 is the phone Apple are trying to catch and I'm just not sure the 5 is so different from my 4 really.
You can't connect your macbook to a galaxy S3 by cable! I would think carefully about switching. I did, and I'm not sure I did the right thing. I think I would get an iphone5 now if I could. There is no neat solution to itunes and android and Ive yet to find anything that is as neat, although android is much better regarding movies and drag and drop.I have a mac and use iTunes for my music. I get 2 days + change out of mine, sometimes 3 days if I don't use it much.
Tips:
Look at XDA forums for "BetterBatteryStats" - download, install and make sure you don't have wakelocks killing the battery
Don't run screen at full brightness - mines at probably 25% which is plenty bright enough
I don't know if it makes a difference anymore but I typically run the phone down to 15% or so and then full charge.

You don't need to connect by cable. Just use Kies Air. Kermit power said:

That'll just kill the battery quicker. Modern battery technology likes to sit around the 65% charge mark as a minimum. You might get 500 full cycles out of the battery, but between 100 and 65% 5 times that. You have to unlearn all the things we used to do to keep batteries in top condition. Full cycles = bad now.james_tigerwoods said:

Am I missing something, it's very easy to use the easy phone sync app on the macbook & S3 via the USB cable to sync with itunes.
I've found that it eats memory to the point of locking up my MacBook...According to TrustedReviews Jelly Bean has started rolling out over Europe on the S3, it shouldn't be long before we get some buttery goodness!

What'll it do to the S3, what can I expect?Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
