My iPod classic went phutt last month so it will get used as such. I won't put all of it on though.

No, it's not just you, plenty of people go for the 16GB without putting a micro SD in. Just like with the iPhone 5, the most popular model is 16GB without expandable memory.

Got sick of waiting and just put the Polish JB 4.1.1 on mine via ODIN.

Very easy to do and WOW!

When you have got 30mins spare you need to do this. JB is a lovely step forward and the 'butter' interface really is lovely. Lots of incremental improvements that you dont notice at first but make the whole experience much nicer too.

Google NOW looks as though it could be interesting as well.
Does this do away with touchwiz and the various Samsung apps?

As far as I can tell (still exploring) it keeps all settings and apps as they were. I use Quick Launch in place of TouchWiz.

There are just lots and lots of little tweaks that make it nicer (e.g. if you have multiple emails waiting it shows more detail in the dropdown notification bar etc).
Nice!

Though, if I'm not mistaken, they're rolling out ICS for the S3 atm.

Edit: I ment JB!

Red S3 promotion:

Only today apparently, for £400. Can't wait till we get the other colours on the continent.

I went for the Amber Brown colour.

Thought I'd be different.

Missus went for the red/maroony one as it matches her brand colours and she's very happy indeed. she keeps texting me how lovely it looks. She/I can't use it yet as I need to trim the sim cards.

Just a quick question - with all these people jumping up and down waiting for jelly bean, will I actually notice much difference when it comes? What will change?

It's mainly about smoooooooothness of the graphics.

The reputation iOS has for being slick is largely / partly down to it being graphically very smooth whereas Android can be a bit stuttery at times. I suspect this is their aim.

Is there a simple walk through for this?

Well, since "tasker" I really use it frequently on the bike.

I have a bluetooth set in my helmet (C3 SRC), I turn it on -> couple of seconds later phone is connected and "tasker" starts doing it's work:
  1. "Display lock" to horizontal
  2. Auto-brightness off
  3. Brightness to 100%
  4. Open "winamp"
  5. Media volume to 100%
Disconnect the headset and it does the exact reverse.
hehe makes it really easy and no faffing about. Tasker really comes to it's own like that. Check out this guy's videos of tasker:

Yes.

30mins all-in for me. 20mins to download the FW and 10mins to install. Absolute piece of piss.
top man! That me sorted for tonight!

Well the phone seems lovely, looks great in brown and is a pleasure to use.

Shame its going to have to go back as the camera won't auto focus. Doesn't work in any mode and appears to be fixed at around 6 inches and the focus box, or whatever you call it, stays red.

Disappointed.
