I've said it once, and I'll say it again. I very much doubt pentile will make any difference to a screen with 300+ DPI !
That said if it is such a big deal, maybe go for the One X.
I think I'd go for the SGS3 though... I reckon it'll run smoother and have better battery life than the HOX.
I thought it looked good. Nothing ground breaking, really, but a nice looking all round phone.
Although I have to be honest, I think I'll stick it out for the next Nexus, or maybe the Asus Padphone.

The screen will be fantastic at a little over 300 dpi and at 4.8 inch! Apple are going to have do something special with the 5 whenever that gets released.
Happy to keep hold of my S2 for now though got another year to run on it.

According to every review I've read that mentions it, pentile display is a problem for a vocal <b>minority</b>.
Everything about this phone does it for me, Would but it just for the wireless charging....
Rock-on the 30th.......

You'd need a pretty good magnifying glass to spot the pentile display on 300+dpi Howly cow, 4,8" display, that's huge! I loved the look & feel of the Nexus and I'm curious to have a play. Nothing ground breaking really, although I like the idea of the screen not dimming when you're reading something, and the big screen. I'll sit this one out with my SGS2 I think, it's serving me very well. The OH was hoping I'd go for the S3 as she really really wants my S2, so she can throw away the iPhone and maybe even the Bold We have too many smartphones already  .

I don't know what some of you expect. It's like the iphone 4S came out. People said 'Meh' but all phones are going to look the same but have better functionality/performance. There isn't going to be another 'iphone moment'.
I have no idea what this pantile thing is you're going on about either. The SGS2 screen was/is awesome so unless this is worse (its not) I can't see what the problem is.
(I don't know why I posted this. Some people would moan if they gold plated it, gave away free diamonds and a BJ from their favourite movie star.)

Not really disappointed with the specs, it's just first impressions in terms of looks, compared to the SGS2 and the One X, are that it's ugly and dated.

I think the design of this and the One S so far are the best for large screens. I wasn't sure at first, but I'm really warming to the styling. Edit - Actually, having seen this pic of it next to an S2, I'm not so sure now.

Slightly O/T guys so I hope you'll forgive me.... I quite like the look of the S3 but how would I go about putting all my music and videos from iTunes on my Mac onto it? I have an iPhone 4 atm so everything works perfectly. I've done a quick Google search and there are plenty of options if you have a Windows PC but there doesn't seem to be a lot if you have a Mac. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

Going to order one this weekend, just not sure which colour to go for. Would have preferred black, but can't decide on my feelings towards the blue.

To be honest chaps I think it looks pretty crap! The specs are decent but certainly nothing special, and don't you think the design makes it look like one of the naff bottom end Samsung offerings? Pretty disappointed. Glad I made the choice to go for the One X now
