What happens if you pop it into a pc? Maybe you could get everything off it onto a pc and format it on the phone, then copy everything back on?

Do you have the micro usb cable that came with the phone? If so then you can go into settings/wireless and there should be a USB section in there which will allow you to select to connect as mass storage. Then you can plug the phone into the pc and see files as if it was a USB key.

Same thing happne'd to me with my Desire s

One minute the card was working, the next it wouldn't recognise it.

Ended up trying another micro SD card which works fine although i've accepted all my pictures and videos are probably lost on my 'damaged' card.

For the future if you sign up to Google Plus it'll automatically back up your photos and vids to the cloud.

if you get a card adaptor for a PC and it doesn't work (happened to me too) then try this software: EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Free Edition - it worked for me (the free addtion only recovers a certain amount of data).
