Microsoft Security Essentials does seem a very good option though. Surprisingly good, considering where it's come from wink
Malwarebytes & CC Cleaner alongside is all I need & doesn't impact at all on W7 so far as I can tell.
Avast & AVG both hog resource. Pre-installed Norton is by far the worst I've ever encountered. A pig to remove completely too - it seems to leave a nice unusable chunk in the HD even if you use the removal tool http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Norton-Remov...
Do you find that you need the CC cleaner as well, had this on our last, ( old) pc, but thought on windpws7 it wasn't really needed. ( stand to be corrected though ).

CC cleaner runs on start up & only takes about 5 seconds so it's hardly an issue tbh.
