I have pre-ordered one from google...which is unlike me...I'll post back once I have it.

I am weirdly excited about it, but essentially it's going to be like my phone, only bigger.

I'll maybe download *some* files on it to watch, but other than that it will be music (rarely) and emails/internet/books (lots).

Also pre-ordered one, looks a bargain for the money. Will see how it compares to my HP touch pad with Android installed (which is pretty awesome IMO) and the Blackberry Playbook I recently bought.

It's got micro USB, yes. I've got one ordered too, looking forward to it's arrival.

The Nexus 7 manual (available as a free book from Google Play) only refers to the USB being used for input peripherals, and makes no mention USB storage - various blogs seems to confirm this won't be supported.

Hopefully some bright programmer will come up with a work arround. :-)

Well it looks like it could be possible

This is the only drawback as far as I can see

This will only work if the USB on the go protocol is in place on the device. Which allows the USB to be both a device connection and a MASS STORAGE connection.

Looks like its going to have to be rooted as it does support USB host

Looks a lot better spec than the HTC Flyer the OH currently has, but not worth the upgrade for our use imho.

Also, for me, I'd be missing the SD card slot, I actually find myself swapping the cards rather often when on vacation.

How was the work around applied to the Samsung Nexus as that suffered the same issue?

Ordered - although I don't really need one. I already have a Kindle, so this will probably be used for checking the news in bed in the mornings, and for taking on holiday.

Interesting to see that Jelly Bean is due to be released to the Nexus S phones soon as well.

Are they only doing a 16GB version? I thought I saw an 8GB announced? 8 would be perfect for my missus as all she would do is surf the net, email etc on it with some basic apps
