I bought a simple pouch from amazon for a fiver. Most of the cases I see are flipping ugly.

Chris Type R said: This worked fine for a while, now it says: "The version you are running is out of date please update" I can't see a way of updating it.

Have you tried un-installing it and then reinstalling from the URL ?

Expected my order from Ebuyer for 10th August, but got it today. Well chuffed.
Now, I need a good temporary case. I'll probably pick up a neoprene case till the official one is released.

Anyone got any recommended conversion settings for Movies using Handbrake?
I have a load of DVDs and Blurays ripped directly to mkvs (so 20 odd gb for some Blurays!).
I'd like to be able to get a few films on the Nexus 7 - Any decent settings for getting them to under say a gig for a typical movie without losing too much quality?

Is anyone else having problems with bluetooth audio?
some apps seem to not send sound over bluetooth, and just come out of the built in speakers?

What is going on with android/jellybean with deleting text. I make a mistype and want to delete a couple of characters and it deletes all the text in the chat box! It is doing my head in! This is the 4th time trying to type this and in the end gave up and switched on my PC in then!
No idea on blue tooth not tried it I am halftempted to try a bluetooth keyboard!

No idea on blue tooth not tried it I am halftempted to try a bluetooth keyboard! Not had that problem yet! But I have myriad others! It crashed in nav mode earlier. Lost my route it had cached, which was a nightmare! Luckily had my phone with nav on as well, as I wanted to see what it was like as a big screen nav. Its not great, it suffers the same problem as in web usage, bad use of the screen area and the stupid home button taking up space. The Bluetooth audio one is odd, I think it might be becuae the app I was using (Olympics) isn't actually supposed to work on jellybean. As it works on Netflix Also when typing on pistonheads with the landscape keyboard, I can't see anything I'm typing, anyone have a fix for that? And I gotta say I'm starting to realise the battery life on it is not that great.

Used this for a bit now, the software is still lacking and still seems more like a big phone (without that functionality obviously). Most notably it has constant crashes, is slowed by excessive amount of apps, very few dedicated apps like there is for iPad, google now stuff seems more for phone, internet browsing is half as quick as ipad safari, voice dictation is not as accurate as ipad, you've got to pay for a split keyboard - school boy error there definitely, could do with a lot of basic standard stuff like a battery percentage indicator, most the widgets are pointless.
I've had to uninstall so many apps because they weren't compatible. It is very good but if apple brought out a 7" lightweight tablet, this nexus 7 would become a doorstop unless they greatly improved the software for tablets. Off the top of my head I do like the way you can get a refund for apps and the google maps integration.

Haven't had a single app crash or had any slowness with a browser, I wonder if its your wifi setup ? There are about a gazillion widgets that will show you battery percentage. If you've had to install apps due to incompatibility how are you installing them in the first place ? play store doesn't let you install apps that are incompatible.

I've got an app called notification toggle, it puts a percentage for the battery in the bar, along with various toggles in the drop down notification... My homescreen Drop down notification You can choose various different toggles to put it and is alot more convenient I find.

There must be something wrong with the your nexus 7 if browsing is slower than an ipad, I've had an ipad 2 and much prefer my nexus 7. Maybe try a full reset and reinstall apps may help?
