O2 network down
Discussion
I had a few problems last evening, but was OK this morning, but dead phone now since lunchtime. Phone says emergency calls only when trying to dial out. I'm 02 pay monthy.
Co-incidently my landline has also gone kaput (again) so glad that internet is still working. It's the 3rd time since begining of May that my landlaine has gone down, and BT seem incapable of making it work for more than 2-3 weeks at a time

I have 2 IP4 phones here side by side on the table.
One is showing signal, and one is showing no service.
WTF???
My iPhone and Nokia are fine, both the kids BB's are playing up. We're all in the same house on O2 Pay Monthly. It's gotta be an account issue, not a general network failure IMO.One is showing signal, and one is showing no service.

http://bit.ly/N0cEee O2 hit by nationwide network failure that has left 'millions of users' unable to make calls or text ... #MailOnlineThis article would agree with you, account specific, completely random, don't know how to fix it
It s not just a uk thing. I'm working in Norway and we've had the same.
Im on O2 at home but go through telenor and all mines doing is "searching"
Thought it was just me but some of the other lads here are having the same problem whilst others are ok.
Strikes me as more of a software problem thats blocking certain customers phones.
Oh and I've even tried logging onto the other local networks and still get the same problem.

Here's an interesting one... My kids reckon their BBM' were still coming through when the network is down. Do they use an unauthenticated stream of some sort?
Being kids, they could just be talking bks of course
BBM will work over WiFi, as will iMessage if you are an iPhone/pad/pod user on iOS 5. Being kids, they could just be talking bks of course
