As for an error with Apple maps, I suppose anything to make some headlines. At least it did not spark an invasion like Google maps did with one of its errors.

I often drop the iPhone into the bedside dock and listen to podcasts prior to bed, and have to ensure that I open the podcast application before hitting play. Otherwise, hitting play starts the music player instead. Whereas if it was a part of the music player, it would always work without any faffing about.
It didn't need to be a separate application, and not having the podcasts listed under the music player, even as a "genre" seems utterly stupid.

Well, the only reason I can think of is that it is all in one place. Beforehand you had to go to the music app to play them, and itunes to download/subscribe to them. No... That is not what I was saying at all. What I am saying is that every error that apple maps has is plastered all over the place, but the errors google, bing, or nokia are not news, because it is not apple. It is that simple. I am aware that people think I am an apple fanboy, just as I think certain other people, (;)) are the inverse, and have an anti-apple obsession. The difference between myself, and 'those people' is that I do not troll other threads relating to other OS's. Sadly my dalliance into Android has not gone well and I pine to return to the fold.
Have been offered a 3GS but if it's uselss may just have to delve into eBay and hope there is a decent 4 out there for a sensible price!

Slow it down compared to what? If 5.x, then I've not noticed anything drastic but have not really used it. I just installed it on my wife's old 3GS after I dropped my old 4 in a bucket of water Anyway, it seems OK (slower than a 4/4S/4 of course) but I don't use it much (I got a "normal" cheap Nokia candybar phone which I now use).
You could take the offer (if cheap) and if you find it too slow, sell on?

Don't! A 3GS is good on iOS4, but mine became worse and worse after iOS5, I doubt iOS6 does it any favours.If so, is it any good or does it slow it down hugely?

Perhaps another difference between 'those people' and yourself is that they choose to post in threads that are interesting to them rather than whether they belong to a particular gang or not. You may choose to only read and post in Apple threads for some reason but I suspect most of 'those people' don't really give it that much consideration and simply choose to post whenever they think they can contribute something. The fact you even think about whether you should post in a thread or not depending on whether it relates to a particular manufacturer suggests you believe this is all tribal; that we all post here under the flag of a particular manufacturer. Perhaps if you peared out from the Apple bubble you might see that's not the case.
