- Native functionality access through safari is great. It means I don't need to use native apps if a website has a good mobile site, because native functionality (particularly camera) is more accessible. I'll prove this with the edit by accessing this post from my iPhone and uploading a screen grab of the share page using Safari. This'll make our forthcoming mobile site redesign easier and should mean that you can finally upload images to forums via mobile, or create an ad on a mobile using your camera phone.
Not sure I understand this. Are you saying you've been able to upload an image from your mobile?

That is something they have added, yes.

Have to agree, What ground-breaking things are Windows Phone 8 and Android bring to the table? And certainly loads of criticism for Apple but very few people can back that up.

Case in point - my Samsung S3 compared to my S2 - absolutely bugger all difference really compared to ICS on my S2. The 'wow' features I do not use at all, such as the eye motion thing is useless, I don't tap it to share things etc. It's an S2 with a nicer screen. We'll see a similar progression from ICS to Jellybean, couple of new features and a general polishing of performance etc. No-one is doing anything groundbreaking in my opinion, including Microsoft. I liked the Lumia interface but at the end of the day it's pretty much a 'skin' for the same functionality that exists on iPhones and Android devices.

Yes. It now gives you access to the camera or the gallery. Neither are available at present through safari, only apps.

Oh I see. I guess that is quite handy. I was going to say though, being able to upload files that were stored on the phone has been something I've been able to do for ages! hehe

It's good for developers. It means we can build a mobile site with as many features as an app. That's great for us because mobile search performance is really important, particularly for classifieds.

With iOS6 the Facebook mobile site is as good as the app.

Mainly looking forward to the navigation. Always thought TomTom was a great product but the UI really lacked polish, now Apple is working with TomTom I expect iOS devices will become the nicest satnavs available.

Mainly looking forward to having all my tabs synced in my browser on both Mac and iPad. I know it can be done via Chrome but I prefer Safari.

Nice to see a thread with the word "Apple" in the title is still able to create mass hysteria from the Android fans. It's not about who does it first, it's about who does it best.

I'm another person who owns both an iPhone and an Android phone so I know what each brings to the table, the Apple offering is the only one I'll happily spend my own money on.

I feel the same way, and the S2 is a very nice phone. That said, I'm not sure I'll buy another iPad with my own money. The Nexus 7 is fantastic VFM and a belting bit of kit.

I've been hanging on for an iPhone 5. From what I've seen of iOS6 and the rumour blogs on the 5, it'll probably get my money.

- Volume button as camera button. Nice this. Quite often smartphone cameras miss the moment because you're dicking about unlocking the screen, opening the app and then focussing/pressing the on screen button. It feels a bit more like you've got a compact camera in your pocket.
That's been there since iOS 5 came out.
Shutter button yes, I thought this was now going to be a one button push from the lock screen? ( may of just made that up, but it sounds good )

For me it's more the marketing behind each new iOS release and the minor changes this one brings, not warranting the fuss and hoopla that builds up.

Lets see what the iPhone 5 brings. I for one am looking forward to upgrading my Lumia to the new 920.

Putting aside the IOS/Android debate (love the latter, detest the former), I really hope that this obsession with 'Facebook integration' abates. I hate Facebook more than I hate Apple; thankfully on my One X I could remove or disable the Facebook widgets and stuff.

I don't WANT integration of this sort of crap into my phones.

Of course having it doesn't mean that you have to use it though, does it?

For those that do (and I'm far from an obsessive Facebook user) it's a nice feature. I can see my wife, who uses Facebook to share pics of our kids with family around the world using quite carefully put together groups of family/friends with different limits on what can be seen, finding it very useful.

Sweet - so you watch stolen films at the same time as "Viewing Real Personals and Flirting 24/7" on your SG3....and the fun hasn't even begun yet?

Legendary.
