PMSL!!
Apple website says "iOS 6 adds new calling features to your iPhone. Now when you decline an incoming call, you can instantly reply with a text message....."
Have they really only just added this?
And still no homescreen widgets.
Didn't they copy that from Android?Apple website says "iOS 6 adds new calling features to your iPhone. Now when you decline an incoming call, you can instantly reply with a text message....."

Fundamentally, though, it hasn't changed since iteration 1. New features, new native apps, but the useage (much like Windows on the PC since Win 95) hasn't changed much.
I see no reason for it to.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it I see no reason for it to.
I like the nice little updates, IOS is easy and intuitive for new users so big changes are a bad idea.
Built-in navigation is a big deal (unless, like me, you're using Waze for free which works pretty well). As others have said, nothing groundbreaking in those notes, but why does there need to be?
Can anyone tell me what would be a groundbreaking addition that is currently available in an alternative mobile OS?
Only thing I'd like to see is homepage widgets with the ability to quickly change settings at the touch of a button.
Other than that, it works so why try to fix it?
Does anyone know if Siri is being opened up any more than simply allowing it to open other apps? There was talk of the Siri API being opened for use?

I wouldn't even say the Built in Nav was a massive deal, it's just bringing the iPhone up to the level Android and Nokia phones have been for years. I'm guessing most of the dissapointment comes from Apple's chest beating over the past 6 months about being innovative. Makes them sound a bit silly when their next major mobile OS update is full of features from other OS's. They don;t even appear to be doing them in a vastly different manner to the competition.

Chaps, before going a bit mental, remember that the Nokia ngage had the call to text feature. That was before android. Find out who has the patent, and if it has been licensed before going off the deep end.
Apple can do no wrong in your eyes can they, No1 fanboy or what? silent k said:
It looks as though most things that were US only are now available in the UK - http://www.apple.com/uk/ios/ios6/siri/ this is a UK specific page
So everything on that link for the 'UK Specific' Siri stuff, is all US stuff?Siri has got to be one of the most useless apps ever, Apple made such a big thing about it, it's useless.
I guess the problem with Apple, and it's iOS is that it's that good and has been for years, people want more and more.

Another HUGE deal
about not much. Bring on Windows Phone 8.
Definitely.about not much. Bring on Windows Phone 8.
Reckon I'll trade my 4S against a Lumia of some sort.
iOs is looking very tired and seems content to plod along without anything remotely groundbreaking in the near future.

Apple lovers & haters - the question is would you go long on Apple stock at $675 today, or short it?
Depends how long you want to play for. Short to medium term I'd go long, though I can't see them rising too significantly.Five to ten years from now, I'd definitely be on the short.
