Just got the new 5 on Orange and ported my old number across.
When people text me or ring me on my old number all is fine but for some reason the number first given to me by Orange is set into the phone by default meaning that my caller ID for all iMessages/Facetime etc comes from this number. Meaning people with iPhones are coming back to me saying 'who is this?' etc.
How the feck do I go about rectifying this?

Settings / Messages / Send & Receive - make sure your new number is under "start a new conversation from" Same for Facetime.

I had that problem too - sorted it by switching iMessage on and off.

It didn't fix it but I spent half the night up restoring the phone and setting up as a new phone and it seems to have worked as well as then rectifying the issue across the board on iStuff.
Was so annoying that all iMessages were being sent from a number that when you called back didn't exist. Putting 25GB of stuff back on it took ages!!!
