Update already? As my 4.4 N4 is rooted Is there a straightforward way to update without wiping out the phone?
You'll have to do the update manually, I think, and then re-root.

Just did a sideload - no bhing about build.prop this time so much easier although it took a while (ART optimisation I'd guess) and it's unrooted the phone, no big deal.

The opposite. My N5 and my BMW get on better than my old HTC (ICS) and the same BMW.

Is there a firmware update for the Megane? (There was one for the BMW).

Problems only started after updating to 4.4.1. I play music in my Megane from my car via Bluetooth - what happen is it plays for a few minutes, then stops. This seems to kill the Bluetooth on the N4 (can't switch it on) and I need to reboot in order to switch it back on. I've only been in the car 3 times since the update and it's done it each time.

No updates for the Megane (at least not that I know of - it hasn't been serviced recently). Up until this point it was faultless. I'll try another phone just to be sure but I'm pretty sure it's the N4.

Is there a setting or an App for the camera that allows a date and / or a time stamp to be displayed on the image as the shot is taken?

Please forgive my curiosity but why do you want it? Seems like an odd request in this day and age.

I want to take a photo on my phone this evening and message it there and then. It is nigh on identical to one I took recently. I don't want to be accused of sending the original photo.

The date and time will be stamped in the properties of the file anyway, and to be honest it'd be easy to photoshop a time and date onto any photo.

Plenty of apps allow you to write whatever you want on the photo - including any date and time - which makes it eminently fakeable and hence untrustworthy.

If you need to prove it then include the front page of today's paper in the shot. Otherwise, I'd say the "Date Taken" stored in the file properties should be enough. YMMV :-)

Bah my N4's bluetooth still keeps dying irked nearly got home tonight before it died again. Tried another phone and no problems...

I'll try re-pairing the N4 & Megane and if that doesn't work I'll nuke it from orbit flash a factory image on, it's the only way to be sure.

I've just received 4.4.2 (yes two) which gives me a full height lock screen but not home screen. Any idea why?

What launcher are you using? You need to be using Nova Launcher Beta or the Google Experience Launcher from the Nexus 5 to get a transparent home screen.

Ah, I thought it was part of the 4.4.1/4.4.2 update. Pity that. Thanks.

Hi, anybody suffered with this problem since updating to 4.4:
I charge my phone overnight and then in the morning light is blinking to notify of emails etc but cannot get the screen to come on. Have to hold down the power button and then restart the phone??

Are you pressing the "on" button at the same time as you are unplugging from the charger? I've had a couple of crashes when I've done both together I guess because unplugging causes the screen to turn on anyway so hitting the power button switches it off at the same time and confuses things. I've got in to the habit now of either turn on then unplug or just unplug and wait for the screen to wake and I haven't seen it since.

I've had this problem intermitently since I first got the phone, happens maybe once every couple of weeks. Just trying to decide if I can be arsed sending it back to be fixed or not. Don't think it's to do with the update.
