Downloaded, thank you!
I've started fiddling with mine now, not spent long on it but here's what I have so far (need to find some more widgets).
Home screen
Looks nice, what widget is the one that gives you the sunrise? Nice touch!I've started fiddling with mine now, not spent long on it but here's what I have so far (need to find some more widgets).
Home screen
Could do with a square-icon theme, like this one though:

I've just discovered the site "mycolorscreen". That site will see to it that I lose hours of my life.
I'm working on a new one at present on the Nexus 4, which I'll post up here when finished. I've gone back to a "single screen" setup.
I'm a "power user" myself, but trying to mimic some of the cooler ones on "mycolorscreen" would probably take me hours .I'm working on a new one at present on the Nexus 4, which I'll post up here when finished. I've gone back to a "single screen" setup.
Also, the site should have tutorials as well, instead of only screens. Some of them use neat tricks you just can't figure out right away (like a different background for each screen).
Armando Ferreira did a couple of tutorials though, still some are a lot of work:

Some of these are amazing... Particularly that last one with the pic of your son. How would I recreate that on a galaxy s3 thing?
Fairly easy, get a photo widget that has a similar frame, maybe this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org....Benno87 said:
Running Nova Launcher Prime with a circle based theme for the icons. A clock widget called 'bob clock' and a battery indicator called 'battery widget reborn'.
The sharp eye'd lot of you will notice no notification bar any more..which I love! Makes it so much cleaner to look at. But the notification bar is there if you swipe down anywhere on the screen, it's just hidden..nice touch from Nova.
Only problem now is I can't stop fiddling with it as I find new stuff!!

Yep, I went through a phase like that on my 'droid, but just like WP8 it absolutely did my head in after a while.... although probably not as critical on WP8 as it doesn't have a notifications drawer to start with. Crappy little toy OS that it is [/troll]
Swipe up: App drawerDown: notification
Two finger: camera
Still use the gestures, but also put the app drawer button/notification bar back in place .
Seems like BBOS is going to depend on these quite heavily though, not as intuitive as seeing them there.
SGS2 on stock 4.1
3 of my favourite widgets:
- beautiful widgets for the HTC-style clock
- simple calendar widget for the calendar with Holo skin
- Minimalistic text, displaying the date, name of the connected wifi network and battery charge

Mine is still as it left the factory, a week ago. Really enjoying the change from my iPhone though. A change is as good as a rest and all that.
Nexus 4? Looks ok, but when you get tired of the "grid of icons" look you can get some inspiration here:http://mycolorscreen.com/
Also, the nexus 4 has a lot of guides and following in that aspect, some video tutorials to get you started (first one is the easiest):

Thanks. Before I start on that, can you tell me whether I'd lose Google Now and if so is there a viable alternative?
I ask because when I disable the inelegant Google Search I also lose Google Now, which I like and find useful.
I think you're confusing this with custom roms.I ask because when I disable the inelegant Google Search I also lose Google Now, which I like and find useful.
This (esp the first vid) is nothing like it, it's just adding a few nice widgets (like a pretty clock), changing the wallpaper.
The next step is a new "launcher", which is basically an app that replaces the default homescreen. "launchers" allow for some more customisation, like say, you want 6 icons in the dock or a 5x5 grid on the homepage instead of 4x4. They also allow changing some fade animations, amongst other cool stuff.
I'd consider myself a "power user", and my screens look far from the default Samsung provided, but I never felt the need to "root" (comparable to jail breaking) my phone.

Ha, that's brilliant... might have to steal that!!
Beat you to it,Fully functional
Hmm should assign A to app drawer
This could take hours
Edit: all nova launcher: hide notification bar (swipe down brings it up), hide dock, grid 8x8, some icons here:

And you're good to go.

I would be it's SMSunread widget not the app icon. Bugged me to start with, seem to have got over it now.
What launcher you using, Nova lets you use normal app icons with number overlays for the unread messages. But if you're cool with it then cool (it would bug the life out of me, mind).
Already posted this but seems relevant here:
DCicon for gmail, with number overlay by Nova Launcher
