Ok, this is gonna be a daft question but bear with me.

In the S3, is it possible to separate the apps in the app drawer into folders?

What I'm getting at is, let's say there's a few apps you neither want, nor use, but short of rooting, you can't remove them. I understand, however, that you can disable apps. That being so - can you create folders within the app drawer and stick the unused apps in there?
Assuming you're running it as it came out of the factory, then:

  • Open the app drawer
  • Press the 'menu' button
  • Select 'Hide Applications'
  • Tick the ones you want to hide, then hit 'done'
That's all you can do on the stock launcher as far as I know. With Nova, you can hide apps in a similar way, but can also organise them into folders within the app drawer itself.

Presumably "hiding" is in addition to disabling the app?

As far as I can tell, yes.

Disabling ensures that it cannot run and use resources, whilst hiding means it will no longer show up in the app drawer.

These are the centre 3 screens of mine.

The blanked out yellow on the top right is the last text message, on the left are a bunch of lists like my shopping list I've left on.
I have absolutely no idea why I've left the clock on there, as a) I wear a watch, b) the unlock screen has the time on, and c) the time is always in the top right!

The clouds move across the screen. If its raining, you get animated rain etc.
Its nice to have but is a power sucker.
The image he took isn't going to show it though.

That's crass, so you don't care for the new notification system in iOS, or free Navigation? wink

Looks great, though the "Metrostation" icon set would really finish the "clean" look imho!
