Bump,

Reading my previous post make me wonder where all the problems began....

I originally had a good battery life on the phone and after installing an app called Viber (bit like skype) the battery struggled to last six hours! After uninstall it came back but got progressively worse until it got to the stage of not lasting a full days use! I was not amused!

On Tuesday an update came through for the phone and after installation the battery was much better, currently it's been five hours since my last charge and it's at 100% After a whole day yesterday the battery was at 78% before I charged it overnight, I fully expect two whole days out of it now!

Very impressed that the issue has been sorted already!
I think somebody else on here mentioned that Viber utterly borked battery life, had an update come through this week myself - apparently it was an EE specific update that dealt with some Portico radio issues. If that's the one you had then that might explain the improvement in battery life?
Yeah it was me! Loads of threads about it where Viber are just saying it doesn't happen and it's not their fault, last time I try to be cheap and send messages for free!

I didn't know what the update was for so it was a nice surprise to see my battery bar stop moving!

Dead impressed again with the 920! My Dad's even moved slightly to the future with the Lumia 800 and he loves it! Next step is to junk my Garmin and get charging and holder in the car, I wish I could find a holder that did wireless charging too!

Coming May! Although the nokia page has a distinct lack of UK availability, I'm hoping it'll be available here once released!

Don't suppose you have any info on a UK release? /blatantfishing

I wish! Nothing beyond the "in May" that was announced at MWC I'm afraid (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5feA6_Oc9Q)

Apparently RRP is 69 euros. NFC to launch Drive is nifty and the video implied you can change this. We do have an NFC tag writer app in the Store so I expect this means you can choose to launch a different app to suit you.

Cheers Simbu... it was worth a try!

I've got the NFC writer app so was going to get some tags and have a play. I probably wouldn't want it to launch Drive everytime as I don't use Nav most of the time I'm in the car but I'd love it to enable Bluetooth!

Get it to launch Nokia Music perhaps! wink

If you read up about how NFC tags work on Windows Phone and check out this page then you can basically have it launch directly to your favourite mix in Nokia Music, or any of the other supported 'deep links'.

Good To hear some positive things about the Lumia 920 smile

I have had mine since UK launch and love it, I initialy had a problem with wireless charging causing the phone to need a soft reset but a quick trip to Nokia and it has come back and operated faultlessly since. The Nokia Apps are just brilliant, Not a day goes by where i have the Bose QC15's plugged in and the Nokia Music app blasting out some quality tunes (currently listening to some downtempo). The phone is incredibly robust and well made, it runs for 2 days before needing another wireless top up. Overall after a BB Storm, Desire HD and Iphone4 the Nokia knocks them all into a cocked hat. Good to see Nokia back on form smile

One of the women in IT reckoned the Nokia was crap because someone said something on the internet and all that crap and that i should get a galaxy 3, later that day it fell out of her pocket and fell aprt breaking the screen also.

A few people i know have the iphone 5 and are noe regretting it,they look very second hand very quickly, the nok on the other hand is still scratch and dent free.

Brilliant handset, and cant recommend it enough.

So thats it, i have killed all nokia sales now hehe

You are dead right about the iPhone 5. Mines looking a little tatty and its only a few months old. Big nick in the top where I dropped it and it bounced up into the radiator. Bit of a freak accident at the only time I had it out of the case it's been in since day one.

Ahh yes the protective case that lets detritus get in the back to fill the back plate with lots of nicks that looks like stone chips.

The aluminium looks and feels great but it is just too soft a metal for something like this. The 4s glass and stainless steel was much more robust.

I was thinking that, first time ever I saw "iPhone 4(S)" and "robust" in one sentence smile. If anything, the iPhone 5 holds itself together a lot better. It'll look "used" faster because the Alu scratches easier, but it can survive a drop, which the glass back of the iPhone 4 couldn't.

I've had my 920 for a month now and I love it, I haven't got a cover for it yet and wasn't going to bother however it is picking up the odd mark, it's a white one, so I am looking to get a cover of sme sort it's just finding the right one, something that won't bulk it out too much.

There was an update a week or so ago and since thenthebattery life has been fantastic I go to bed and there is sill around 30% showing.

One dissapointment, when I bought it there was no wireless charger as apparently they were all recalled, I have emailed Nokia to try and get one but so far I've not had a response.

All in though I'm extremely pleased with it and glad I made the jump from Android to Windows, I never got on with Android anyway.

Had mine almost a week...and so far pretty good! Better than the 800 it replaces.

Is there anyway to adjust different volumes? When a text message comes through, as I have it linked to facebook, it wakes you up with a bit of a fright!

Thinking of cases too

I'm afraid not RE the volumes - you're not the first person to ask for this. It's probably on Microsoft's to-do list somewhere!

Glad to hear you're enjoying the Nokia Music service! If you update to the latest version from the Store there's a 7 day free trial for NM+. It adds some rather nice features that you might like to try. We're updating it with new features pretty regularly, so the updates are generally worth downloading.

I've been using the Nokia Music app too a fair amount, I love the fact that I can have it streaming via Bluetooth to my car stereo.

Hi Simbu

Its a brilliant service, i did sign up to try it but that week was when my phone played up so didnt really get a chance to try it out fully.

Another cheaper service would be good though just to give song skipability.
