I'm another person that doesn't want a huge phone with a 5 inch screen
I'm still waiting for a decent 4.3 Inch phone to replace my Galaxy S2 but there doesn't seem to be anything.
Even the Nexus 4 is bigger and heavier

For me 4.3 is the sweet spot for a mobile. Cant believe there is not a high end phone of this size. HTC one mini is about the best option at the moment.
I agree with both to an extent (albeit I'm very happy with my 5" phone), the S2 is a nice dainty little bit of kit, very svelte. The closest thing now would be the Oppo R819, it's 4.7" but the dimensions aren't a stretch from the S2.

1cm longer though but only 2mm wider and about as thick on the thickest point. Better battery, camera, display,...
I know, I know... But I didn't want to upset sensibilities. :P
You're looking at someone who bought a Nex S new after it's launch in the US while there on a trip.:P And still it soldiers on through the daily grind nearly 3 years later. The daily hack is squeezing it's modest memory admittedly now though.
Still unsure what way to go to be honest.
Pick up an N4 (a new one) somewhere, go with the R819 and know it'll likely fit the bill perfectly for me personally and allow the inner nerd to make a come back and have a play. Or wait on the N5, hope the price is right, know I'll get years out of ¡t, and allow the inner nerd to play with the Nex S until he's bored again.
N4, N7, N7 2013, is where peoples price 'sensibilities' may have settled though, if you want to understand my earlier post.

Raw performance looks good:

According to the leaked information, the Nexus 5 will have a 5.2in OLED display with a Full HD (1,920x1,080) resolution. It will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor running at 2.3GHz, and 3GB of PDDR3 memory. Phones will be available in 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Essentially, it will be based closely on LG's own G2 smartphone, but we doubt the rear-facing volume buttons will make their way to Google's handset.

That may keep me interested in it, as I am looking to go from an iPhone 5 to an Android phone, and wasnt really liking the buttons on the back.http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communicat...

Shame the G2 is plastic. Hopefully the Nexus 5 isnt, though I'm quite interested in HTC One.

The main reason for the buttons on the back isn't novelty value, it makes the very thin side bezels possible. If they lose the buttons on the back, they should lower the screen size.Shame the G2 is plastic. Hopefully the Nexus 5 isnt, though I'm quite interested in HTC One.

I'm aware of that. A review I read of the G2 didn't seem too impressed, but it's the same as everything I guess. Is the N5 worth waiting for over the HTC One? I'm in contract but will be selling my iPhone 5 to get something of an Android flavour
Hmmm, my Nexus 4 suffered a cracked screen after a 6 inch drop caught the edge of my cereal bowl - an expensive breakfast! Carphone Warehouse charged me £80 to repair, failed to repair it but gave me a boxed up Samsung S3 as a replacement - I've not opened the sealed box because I'm in two minds whether to use it (cyanogenmod it as I hate the Samsung interface) or flog it (looks like it wil get £250+ on ebay) and put the money towards the Nexus 5. The only issue is the lack of certainty re the quality of the camera (indoor photo standard is the weakness of the N4 in my book) and the price.
Any thoughts on my quandry?
