Anybody any advice on what's the best way to maintain the battery nowadays ?
Is it still drain as low as possible and recharge to full, or have things changed ? I've read conflicting suggestions from stuff online, and from guidelines in battery management apps (not on my phone, I don't use battery apps).

Also, here's some info on some 'hidden' capabilities on the latest stock camera app; Lens Blur techniques, 3D imaging, and tweaking the depth map in post-processing for 3D imaging.
Some may find it interesting.

Charge it when you like. Mine goes on all night every night and sometimes a top up during the day if I've been hammering the sat navIs it still drain as low as possible and recharge to full, or have things changed ? As an update - the issue that I had when I first got my N5 appears to have been fixed at some point recently - that is, the issue with the notification light not working for SMSs, emails, etc
Is it 100% reliable now though? I'm still not convinced it's been properly fixed and this is the biggest issue they have IMO.Kapenta said:
I managed to crack the screen on mine, by holding my car keys and the phone in my hand with the screen pressing against the keys. I picked up a carrier bag with the same hand and the pressure cracked the screen...
Going to DIY the repair (£69.99 replacement on the Bay).
Have you priced up a repair at Carphone Warehouse ? When my missus cracked her N4 I think a CPW repair was 75ish and saved a lot of potential hassle. Going to DIY the repair (£69.99 replacement on the Bay).

Chris - No, I haven't but I shall do so...Thanks - does your missus have a contract with them? I am on GiffGaff, so contract free.
She's also on GiffGaff, so contract free. They gave her a very basic loan phone as well. They did do a factory reset iirc, so something to bear in mind. Android 4.4.3 was released yesterday, so updates will begin rolling out soon. It's mostly a bug fix release - an incomplete changelog:
- frequent data connection dropout fix
- mm-qcamera-daemon crash and optimization fixes
- camera focus in regular and HDR modes fixes
- Power Manager display wakelock fix
- multiple Bluetooth fixes
- fix for a random reboot
- app shortcuts sometimes got removed from launcher after update
- USB debugging security fix
- app shortcuts security fix
- Wi-Fi auto-connect fix
- other camera fixes
- MMS, Email/Exchange, Calendar, People/Dialer/Contacts, DSP, IPv6, VPN fixes
- stuck in activation screen fix
- missed call LED fix
- subtitle fixes
- data usage graph fix
- Internet telephony fix
- FCC compliance fix
- miscellaneous fixes
