I've just bought an immaculate 16gb N5 on the bay of evil for £180. 33gb versions seem to go for about £220
I'm in two minds whether to sell my N4 as its brilliant with Lollipop installed, might have to be a back up phone!

Is anyone on Lollipop on the N5 experiencing issues with network signal drops? *#*#4636#*#* shows the settings constantly reverting back to LTE/gsm auto (prl). I've changed to LTE/gsm/CDMA auto (prl) with no luck in getting it to stay.

It cuts out to no signal/emergency calls only then comes back with GiffGaff (O2) reception fine.

My 1st N5 did the same thing before I had to send it back. I really don't want the hassle of sending this one back as it's my 3rd one and everything bar this hiccup is fine.

I think I might have had the signal unexpectedly a couple of times since the update, but a friend of mine started experiencing problems as you describe almost directly after installing Lollipop so there may be a bug.

have yo gone into the APN settings and removed the other ones, Probably O2 and Tesco in there. Delete those and just leave the Giff gaff one in there.

I believe this may cause confusion sometimes with the network on the phone. i know this helped on my N4 on Giff Gaff.

I deleted the, now so hopefully it should be fine. I'll update if it happens again.

Just discovered the update has deleted my voicemail number, so I had to go and set it again

Does anyone have a way of showing different email accounts of the home page, with an unread email count against each account. I'm finding it surprisingly difficult to achieve this.

Why do you want it to be looking for a CDMA network? None of the networks in the UK use CDMA, so LTE/GSM is the correct option for it to be on.

Depends if it includes WCDMA, which is 3G GSM (or UMTS). Confusing, I know.

On the cell signal issue; I've noticed the reception is a little weaker, and I suspect this is down to power management. No issues with reception at any time, but where I am located with work I have full 4G coverage virtually everywhere around the city. Since the update to 5.0 it drops back from LTE to 3G in the very odd sheltered or shielded spot, where it always maintained LTE before.
I saw a similar thing with reception with some android update a few years back, battery life improved, but cell reception dropped off in areas with poor coverage.

I suspect that is where some of the claimed improvements in battery life have come from. But it's just sheer speculation on my part.

I've been using 5.0 for a couple of weeks now. It seems to me that battery life is much better, but I'm not so sure I like some of the 'improvements'.

In particular, the lack of a combined inbox form multiple email accounts is irritating.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an email app which will give me this back? I use POP3 accounts exclusively.

I'm also not a fan of the call & contacts apps. so any alternatives to those would be useful too.

At least the notification LED seems to be working properly now, which was a constant issue before the upgrade.

Not it's a random thing, not everyone gets one at the same time. I was offered Gravity for free a few weeks back.

One piece of advice...

After upgrading to 5.0 I couldn't answer calls, which was a bit annoying to say the least.

Did a bit of Googling and it seems this and a number of other issues are being experienced by others. the solution was to back up all my data and do a factory reset. Now I can actually use it as a phone and answer calls. Very useful.

Don't think I'll upgrade as readily next time.
