Just ebay or amazon I guess - look for UK distrubuters. I don't know any specifically though.

Lollipop has an awful white background for the app tray. Anyone know how to switch this? Can't see a way to do it in settings

Try popping a different launcher on.

Received the 5.1 OTA update for my N5 yesterday - So far it seems a vast, vast improvement.
I've lost all the horrible lag, it seems stable (in the few hours I've used it) and just, well, 'nicer'.
I'm finally back to it being the nice experience that it was under 4.4, and I like my phone again.

Since the update mine makes a noise when I turn it on - any clues how to disable this annoyance?

Not received it yet - looks like some nice enhancements.

anyone had any trouble with the power button? mine gave up whilst using it, and now will only power up when on charge, and even then it will only show the google logo for a second before restarting. general consensus online seems to be a knackered power button/mobo. hitting it etc hasnt worked for me, and the warranty is probably void due to a previous screen replacement

thoughts?

Let Google know anyway. They seem to be pretty good with replacing phones for fully refurbished models.

First thing I would do (if not going the warranty route) is root it and install a custom rom that allows you to use the volume buttons to power on the phone.

Looks like Motorola are going to revive the Nexus 5 with some improvements:

Good news if true. The Nexus 6 is just too big. My 5 is just about the perfect size

This I would like for exactly those reasons. I'd be well up for buying a Nexus 5 mkII

That said the article is full of guff. It talks about 5.1 fixing wifi bugs - it's been out for weeks and did not fix those bugs. It says that update should take weeks for the Nexus 6 - it's out now...called 5.1.1.

I doubt anyone outside of Google and their partner knows much about this year's Nexus phone. Assuming there is one.

That piece seems pure fluff alright. And with all the talk of a Motorola device they use a Photoshopped version of a Huawei !!

Having said that I did read a piece a few weeks back speculating on another tie in with LG for the 5's successor.

Rumours speculate a successor to the 5 this year, and a successor to the phablet 6 in 2016. So a new Nexus device each year, alternating between a pocket size device one year and the phablet device the next year and so on. Which makes sense in a lot of ways.

As regards the Wi-Fi bug fixes it's possible the update did address some issues. I never looked into it but my 5 had stopped recognizing my home Wi-Fi as a trusted place where it would disable the security lock on the screen.
It's now working again after the 5.1 update a while back. I'd suspected the router because it can be a bit flaky at the best of time, but perhaps it may not have been!

Lollipop 5.1.1 updated on my phone.

Anyone else on it? What difference have you seen in regards to stability?

I've found the camera and video playback is a lot more unstable. For instance, after a short while of video playback the screen will freeze for a few seconds, then the whole screen will turn green for maybe 30 seconds, then crash with a 'camera isn't responding' or similar. Doesn't matter if it's using VLC, youtube app or in a browser. There's some guff about clearing caches that I haven't got round to yet though.

Heh. I've been waiting fit for a fix fit the camera. Very often my camera doesn't work and only a restart will fix it.
