I had a very strange issue with my Nexus 5 (had 4 replacements) where the phone would go into Roaming mode every few minutes which forced me to get rid of it, replaced it with a HTC One M8 which has been brilliant.

Recently converted my One M8 to a GPE (Google Play Edition) which has made it alot better with all the bloatware stripped out.

Seriously considering the new Nexus 5 to replace it though.

Looks like the N5X won't be getting the Snapdragon 820. Shame really but that's due for sometime early next year.

The screen size of the X looks to be manageable at 5.2 but I'm not so sure about the 808 chipset.

I love my current N5 with everything bar the battery life. It really is dire. Can't even get through aa day without having to charge it.

As long as battery life is decent, I'll get the new one.

But then again, the Huawei looks good too.

Does anyone else have a change in their app drawer? Instead of scrolling between the app windows list vertically I now scroll through one large horizontal list.

Replaced my N5 battery today - not too difficult to do. Hopefully this will resurrect battery life (launch phone).

Yes, one of the last updates made that change. Didn't like it when I realised - I'm still undecided.
Quick tip; instead of tapping the button to open the app drawer just leave your thumb/finger on it. It opens the app drawer with a search box and keyboard also open, so you can type the first letter (or more) of an app and it filters the drawer.

I've got one on order, driving me up the wall getting to 80% and then dying. Cheap enough on Amazon shame I'm struggling for one for my nexus 10

Had it on today with the new battery - admittedly with almost no browsing etc - still on 95% and the battery settings suggest it's good for 5 days. Fingers crossed that this new battery does resolve the problems that I was having.

The new launcher with it's vertical scrolling and other features seems standard with the Google Now launcher.
I've another device here from TCT which has the Now launcher setup exactly as on my N5 so it doesn't matter which device I pick up as the UI is then the same and it just had some app updates and now has the new type launcher too.
The N5 is running the latest updates and the TCT is running 4.4, so it doesn't depend on the Android version.

those that havnt its well worth changing the battery. £13 on Amazon and fairly easy to do. Can't believe how long its lasting.

£8.19 on the bay (321700720866). It was delivered in a couple of days.

But yes, it's made a big difference to mine - enough to be more "meh" about getting a 5X.

i didnt feel like i needed a new battery really, but as they were so cheap i thought i might as well

the battery life is staggeringly good now. took it off charge at about 9.30am, been using it on and off all day. played music with it, went for a run with strava running. plenty of web browsing, facebook etc. generally used it quite a lot. over 12 hours later, its on 48%. incredible (for a smart phone!)

I've purchased one too but not yet fitted. Waiting for the Marshmallow update then will factory reset and install the new battery before setting up. That may be a better way of me seeing how the battery fares.

It's just come down on mine. Haven't installed it yet, waiting to see if there are any teething problems!

Installed on mine and it looks the same. Only a few tiny changes noticed.

Will monitor battery life before switching for a new one at the weekend hopefully.

My 5 is no longer the daily driver, and I'm ordering either a 5X or 6P in the coming days, but I can verify that battery life has indeed improved on the 5 since the MM update.

I only use it around home for messaging, emails, browsing, media remote etc but there has been a noticeable improvement in battery life. It's just nearly two years old and still on the original battery.

Currently factory resetting my 5. Anyone notice an improvement in battery life just from a reset? I'm thinking of messing about with some of the permissions certain apps have.

Mine updated to MM a week or so ago, and recently power usage has been woeful - seems to be wifi related according to Battery in settings. It can go from 100% to empty in 5 hours.
