Well if it's anything like the previous effort by Google and LG with the nexus 4, it'll be crap.

In the interests of balance, my Nexus 4 is the best phone I've ever owned.

Seconding this. Moved from an iPhone 4S and haven't looked back.

I have to say that I've never had one, but I've only heard good things about them.

I've owned many high end phones, the Nexus 4 is my keeper, make of that what you will.

Powerful processor, nice looks, lots of RAM, great Operating system, decent camera, bargain price. Can't see why anyone would think it was crap.

Don't feed the troll.

I've currently got an SGS3, my mither has a Nexus 4 and i'm fairly sure i'll be on the order list for October for the N5.

The only thing i'd REALLY want in the phone would be a removable battery!!

This.

By far the best phone I have owned to date, which really goes to say something.

I want to keep this phone going for as long as possible.

Anything else that LG makes under the Nexus banner for Google I'd be really interested in as I'm so impressed with this phone.

I wonder if it will be as affordable as the nexus 4 as a standalone handset?

If they do, I'll definitely buy one.

Waiting for this one as well. Am about 2 months away from the end of my contract so an October release (or at least announcement would be ideal). Currently using a Galaxy Nexus and like the idea of another one.

Love the risk free unlocking and rooting. You can always guarantee an active developer community too.

If it's priced anywhere near what the N4 is I'll be biting their hand off and going sim only contract.

I have just switched from T-Mobile to 4GEE in anticipation of getting a Nexus 5.

Details from the recent FCC submission seem to show support for 7 LTE bands. Hopefully it will work on EE 4G!

Curious to see what they do! If the price is similar to the N4 price it'll be, once again, impossible to beat as VFM.

Hopefully though they've learned from their mistakes and get their delivery and production op to speed this time.

The N4 is stonking value at the moment at £199 for the 16gb

Some of the specs suggested look impressive, with a 5" screen. All speculation at the moment.
Launch day is expected to be October 14th along with the release of Android 4.4 'KitKat'

I've always preferred a "thick" phone to a "smart" phone, but today I crumbled and ordered one of these.

A Nexus 4 looked gigantic next to my Nokia 620. How will the 5 look?
