Just got my Elephone P9000, only found out about it from this forum, so thanks for that smile

I pre-ordered on Feb 4th and it got deliveryed yesterday (5 day express delivery). I half didn't expect it to turn up after the release date came and went together with emails from the retailer promising dispatch in 1-2 business days.

Well it seems the wait was most certainly worth it, about £175 delivered including customs charges is an absolute bargin. It's really light, fast enough and has a great screen thumbup

Also the audio quality via the headphone socket is very good.

Big fan of Elephone products, got one for the wife and must admit it's very hard to see where the extra £200-£400 goes when buying a "premium" device. Camera is a bit poor, otherwise it's superb, ordered a couple for the office also.

I've had my P9000 for a few weeks now; what a great bit of kit. The latest Elephone firmware in conjunction with something called the "Rodriguezstyle" software update has got it running really nicely, audio and camera greatly improved along with a host of other enhancements.

i considered a P9000, but bought a Ulefone Power. Most of the phone spec is fairly mid range, with no complaints. The battery life on the other hand, is utterly fantastic (as you would expect with a 6000mah battery) The lowest i've managed to get the battery down to in a days usage was 58%, including playing games, texting, phone calls, using spotify and bluetoothing the audio, and using the GPS. Worth it for the battery alone

Those of you with Elephone P9000's,

Where did you buy them from?

I've read reports of malware etc being loaded on the phones when buying from certain Chinese sites and id like to try and avoid this.

Mine was from Pandawill.com - 100% there was no malware on it when I got it (or since!)

Elephone did have one software release which had adware (and possibly other stuff) built in. People complained by the bucket load and within a couple of weeks they released another version which was totally clean (and has been ever since). This was on the P8000, but I assume it could have been the same/similar situation on the P9000? I got the P8000 through Amazon, reseller called Oxford Street (Hong Kong based), but fulfilled by Amazon (so prime next day delivery). Not sure if they have the 9000 in stock though.

Got mine from www.elephonestore.com.

If you go to the Elephone website it lists many of the websites which retail their phones.

Got mine from Gear Best, arrived 2 days ago and no Malware. Just waiting on my case and glass protector, then I'll start using it full-time

What are these Chinese phones like with updates? I've currently got a Nexus 4 which I am planning on changing this year, was originally going to wait until this years handsets come out, and was going to look at the new Nexus 5(or whatever the new one will bne called), or the Moto X play replacement.

What you see is what you get, don't expect any updates.

Low end handsets of the big manufacturers aren't much better though.

Nothing will beat the Nexus devices on that front. Main reason for the 6p for me.

I switched my P9000 on and after 10 minutes, was greated with the latest Marshmallow update, which I have only just got on my Sony.

Following the XDA threads, they seem to be quick at sending out but fixes, whereas the larger companies take forever

But a Nexus device will get them quicker, one thing I liked about my Nexus 5
