Anyone else having this issue? I have been talking to Google on a Google Forum, and they just keep continually asking the same questions??? I have dissapointedly cancelled my Netflix subscription, there is really no point in me having this unless it works as it should. It's handly for iPlayer and Casting Youtube etc, but the thing I really want appears to not work!
Netflix UK works perfectly on mine. richatnort said:
Has anyone else experienced if they load songs onto their phone from none Google sources and try and stream them through the chromecast it doesn't work. So annoying!
Rather than loading the tracks directly to the phone use the Google music desktop software to upload the tracks to the server (up to 20k tracks I believe)Then pin them on the phone in the G Music app if you want them stored on the phoine

Thank you!I've had my Chromecast for a week and I'm very impressed. It's so easy to use and streaming Netflix or BBC iPlayer is so much better quality than via my Chromebook and HDMI cable. All for £30? Bargain.

I'll try it out and let you know the outcome.

How do you get free credit?
Go to the URL I posted when your chromecast is running on the same wifi network. How do you get free credit?
Slight flaw with these - you need to be on the same wifi network to set them up. My PC has a wired connection plugged direct in to the router that the chromecast is connected to but it won't fire up the administration program on the computer. Just gives a "Please turn on wifi" message which is a bit tricky on a computer without a bloody wireless card!

Chromecast sets itself up as a WiFi access point for the initial configuration so yes, you need a wireless capable machine for the time it takes to point chromecast at the correct access point and enter the password. Chromecast App on an Android or iDevice will work for setup.marshalla said:

Yes, did all that no problem and have the chromecast connected to the same router as the PC. Can cast from Chrome on the PC so they can definitely talk to each other, but I just can't change any settings or turn on a couple of the features I bought it for (the "experimental" desktop casting for one).
Have you tried this ? https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chr...marshalla said:

Have you tried this ? https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chr...For desktop casting, use the Chrome extension and click on the little arrow in the top right hand corner to select desktop casting (should be 3 options - Cast this Tab, Cast this Tab (optimize for audio) and Cast Entire Screen (experimental). Just tried it here (wired connection on Mac) and it worked fine.
For the other stuff - search for the first occurrence of "display: none" in the "Inspect Element" view (it's in the css) and delete it (the link I posted looks to be out of date), then you'll get all the dev. options.
