£50.18 of which £1.18 was for the unlock! Bargain of the year clap
Considering what I sold my 8Gb for on eBay second-hand, that's bloody impressive.
Yep, that's a good bargain!

Sold my Gen 1 for £80 on eBay

I purchased a Gen 2 & can say its a bargain for the quality of the phone! It's probably not as fast as an Iphone but then for a 1/4 of the price what do you expect

Bonus is you make can calls on it smile

Yes, same here. That seems to be the going rate at the moment, which is quite frankly insane. Not only was it an absolute steal to buy at £100 but to sell it 11 months later for £80 (less fees, obviously) is the bargain of the century I reckon.

I had to pay sellers fees though which were £8, so £72 after fees!

Still £72 for a phone I paid £99 for 12 months previously is still a good return

Great phone for the money smile

And I have the 5 Inch Gen 2 which is better!!

I sold my original 16gb version a month or so ago for £82 on Gumtree, no fees!

They are dragging their heels with the lollipop update though.

Sticks.

Overall I'm very pleased with my one (earlier version) apart from a couple of thing which I wonder if anyone could help with.

When writing a text or email, I'm limited to writing in the bottom 10% of the page, the rest being clear if it's a 1st message, or earlier messages. How do I change this?

At the gym, listen to music via the Play app, close it and swipe it sideways from the recent apps page, but when I get in the car, it's playing still. Is it because I haven't unplugged the headphones or am I not closing it properly?

It's my first android phone so thanks.

The option to have texts read to you if you're driving (or at home) is very good. I didn't think the camera was all that bad, though when I acccessed the backed=up copies online they were very low res.

Not sure what you mean by that, text messages are always just a small area that expand as you type on all phones I've used. alternatively, go to Google Play, My apps and see if there are updates that haven't auto-updated.

Need to stop the music with the stop button, I think that's the same on Android and iOS too.

You can download the Google Camera, raw images seem to have a better exposure - http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-x-2014/46891...

Can anyone recommend a docking station/charger for a 2014 Moto G? The ones I have looked at on Amazon look flimsey and reviews consist of no back support or hard to plug in.

Well I have to say that I love the 2nd Gen Moto G.

The Dual SIM is the USP for me. Yes, you have been able to get Dual SIM phones before but only on Grey Import. This is the first mainstream phone I can remember with it. Older Orange Line 2 phones excepted (I miss those).

Also, camera is much improved.

Response slightly more sluggish (bigger screen, same processor). But on the whole a worthy upgrade.

My experience of it after 1 month. Great except the appalling memory management but since I use it primarily for calls, messaging and todo type things when out with it I only ever notice the issue when an app/email accesses a webpage. Chrome sucks up so much memory it starts shutting background apps down. Lots of ranting on forums about this issue.

So, do all browsers kill background apps, any recommended ones to use instead?

Chrome recently started radmomly crashing back to the home screen. Installed chrome beta and it hasn't done it since.

Also had an issue today with my sim card suddenly not being recognised. Removed, reinsert and a reboot seems to have cured it.

Poor memory management, background apps close if you use a browser, the Camera or anything else running. Kitkat 4.4.4

https://forums.motorola.com/posts/6168839e0e?page=...

It leaks so much it's making my carpet wet.

Mine is still fine(ish).
Mine's the 2nd gen version.

Only issues have been annoying "aw snap" errors using chrome. And last week the sim card started unregistering itself again, I've stuck it into slot 2 and it's been fine (not much good if you want to use both slots though).

Camnera is fine, battery still lasts 24hrs no problem.

But.....if I was getting a new phone then I'd probably look at the THL5000 over one of these now. The huge battery life is very appealing.

What I CANNOT fathom is how a solid state device, that hasn't had the core OS changed can then develop problems months into ownership....WTF makes that happen!

I've not had any problems with my Moto G (2nd Gen). I haven't even experienced the memory management issues being reported here.

It's a good little phone.

I have the 16GB 2nd gen and love it. Best phone I've ever had. Reliable, quick, battery lasts all day, does everything I need and more.

As from this thread, 3 close relatives run this one for over a year, and I've had to do no explaining, fixing, or anything else which is refreshing. They all work great, and in terms of smoothness and screen they deffo punch far above their weight.
If I wasn't such a junky for the latest and greatest, I'd get one myself in a flash.

Just replaced mine with an S4, got bored of the lack of expansion and crap camera. It's still sat here as a spare/emergency phone, I didnt realise at the time, but when I bought it from the Virgin store in Edinburgh, I bought it there because I thought they'd all be network locked. Turned out it isnt, so it's had a Giffgaff and a Three sim in it.

For day to day stuff it's ace, but it's 3g only, 5Mp camera 8Gb storage and I wanted more from a phone. If it wasnt for the 4g I'd probably have gone for the THL5000

Consider putting it up for sale on eBay. They fetch strong money, especially when unlocked.
