A friend's wife works for O2, and she always takes off the week a new iPhone is release because of the way the public reacts. Apparently it's horrific, just a non-stop barrage of callers screaming, swearing, death or injury threats... All because you can't get them one like today. Most are locked into a contract with existing phone, sometimes only just commenced.
How sad are some people, when it comes down to it, it's a phone FFS, their lives must be pretty empty to get so hung up on something that in teh grand scheme of things is pretty insignificant.BrewsterBear said:
Can we take the talk of inferior mobiles elsewhere please? I don't use a dab of Oppo phone for the same reason I don't wear a Burton's suit. Objectively iPhones and Hugo Boss suits do the same thing as the cheaper stuff, but I know which brands get my hard earned.
And as long as people still think like this, Apple will be fine.
The power of marketing.

What would you call them, Surfaces? Tablets is too generic.

My only gripe with the F7 is that I dont think it works on the 4G network I want to go on.. Did you get a 7 or a 7a in the end?
7a,4g is great. Posting a short review in the relevant thread next week. As for the person calling it an inferior brand, care to explain how you came to that conclusion? Was your experience with the Oppo that bad?

just bought a 64GB SD card for it, cheap as chips. I feel like the iPhone has completely lost the usp most users names (size).
for the life of me can't fathom why you'd go for a 6+ over something like the Oppo at half the price, with features two years ahead of it.
Of course, final judgement can be passed once we and the reviewers get their hands on one. Very curious what, for example, MKBHD has to say about it.

What is the cheapest way to own a 64gb 6plus over 2 years? Buy unlocked and giff gaff?

Cool, I'll have a read of it before deciding my next phone. As for the person calling it an inferior brand, care to explain how you came to that conclusion? Was your experience with the Oppo that bad?
Lol at the poster who said about inferior phones, you do realise that Apple is 2 years behind the times. In the tech world that's almost a life time, but because of Apple's loyal users, this doesn't matter. Apple could release any thing and it would sell.

they would never try and sell a completely pointless, embarrassing, ugly and pathetic device that hasn't ever taken off because it's a terrible idea before, and put rubbish tech in it.

Hi applewatch
The Apple Watch was the most cringeworthy part of the keynote. It was almost funny like it could've been a spoof!

Not sure I follow on this 2 years behind on spec? My current phone is Android and if you mean Android phones have NFC then fine Apple is 2 years behind just having it in their phones but I've never once used it - there isn't the infrastructure or set up to use it in day to day life.
I'm off the mind that having spec for specs case isn't the be all and end all, I'd rather Samsung had spent the money on making my phone more reliable or actually made it as quick as it's spec suggested it should be rather than bundling specs and features that can't be used including NFC.
A 2 year old iPhone 5 is miles quicker than my 17 month old Galaxy Note 2 which had top notch internal specs when it came out!
I've been disappointed with my Andrpid experience hence switching to the new iPhone 6 in a few weeks..... I'm not blown away by the iPhone 6 by any stretch but I expect it to still he working nicely in 2 years unlike this Samsung!
Note - I will say not all android are created equal I seriously like the new HTC One M8!

The world must be gong mental for the 6. I tried to call Vodafone yesterday to order my upgrade. Gave up after two hours of call not being answered.

Hi applewatch
The Apple watch is a bit of a let down for me, when the iPhone was released it was kind of a game changer. The smart watch doesn't seem anywhere as inventive compared to the competition to me. they would never try and sell a completely pointless, embarrassing, ugly and pathetic device that hasn't ever taken off because it's a terrible idea before, and put rubbish tech in it.
Hi applewatch
They'll sell more than all the other brands combined in a heartbeat though so I don't think they'll lose any sleep over it.

As a fan of Apple kit, I found the keynote fairly cringeworthy throughout. It's not Apples fault that there is little left to add to the smartphone world but trying to sell landscape on the 6+ as groundbreaking did make me laugh
I will stick to Apple for their slick OS and reliability. It really is a case of software for me, not the hardware.

My take on it...
TomTom/Garmin PND - £na Google maps
Top spec compact camera - £100
Basic Android tablet - £100
iPod Touch £na
Low end HD camcorder £na
Basic feature phone £20
So about the same as a nexus 5.
I personally went LG g3.
Love the self justifying man maths
Definitely not worth £400 more than my iPhone 5 64GB, for a marginally faster CPU (according to leaked benchmarks) slightly faster GPU and slightly higher res screen. Excluding the backpack needed to carry it around.
Talking of trendy hipsters, catch up Apple! Mine has TWENTY FOUR buttons for goodness sake. And a battery that last for years, with breakthrough technology that means you don't have to press anything in order to see the time. And can it calculate the cosine of 4.738*10^17 like mine? I don't think so!
