Set/reset buttons were normally recessed and you could only press them with a ball point pen. So that gap on the left is probably one.
Err, do a bit of counting, there are 23 visible....BenM77 said:
Definitely! They hark back to the Casio calculator watches and don't look any better
As a fan of Apple kit, I found the keynote fairly cringeworthy throughout. It's not Apples fault that there is little left to add to the smartphone world but trying to sell landscape on the 6+ as groundbreaking did make me laugh
I will stick to Apple for their slick OS and reliability. It really is a case of software for me, not the hardware.
Ah I never watch the Keynote! Just rely on other sources to give me the key bullet points! Like you I'd struggle with the cringe I think! Though I did see the weird high five with Bono, that was awful enough! As a fan of Apple kit, I found the keynote fairly cringeworthy throughout. My only gripe with the F7 is that I dont think it works on the 4G network I want to go on.. Did you get a 7 or a 7a in the end?
7a,4g is great. Posting a short review in the relevant thread next week. As for the person calling it an inferior brand, care to explain how you came to that conclusion? Was your experience with the Oppo that bad?

This thread is starting to decend into handbag fights,
I really don't get the "apple is X years behind android" arguments. Are you all saying that there is a proven and working ecosystem of useful NFC implementations bar a few nerds who use NFC tags with tasker to turn on the wifi when they get home? I doubt it.
I get it, we're all different, some of us like specs, some of us like the overall experience. Reminds me of last night when I had dinner with my missus, and all we heard was the guy on the table next to us waxing lyrical to his rather pretty blonde missus about printers, cartridge sales and how quick laser printers are. You're only going to be emptying your balls into your own belly button when you talk about specs, because none else gives a fk apart from you, especially your bored missus who looked like she wanted the whole experience!

what are you on about. no-one has mentioned nfc in a bit, and those that did didn't say anything about it being integrated yetI really don't get the "apple is X years behind android" arguments. they would never try and sell a completely pointless, embarrassing, ugly and pathetic device that hasn't ever taken off because it's a terrible idea before, and put rubbish tech in it.
Hi applewatch
The Apple watch is a bit of a let down for me, when the iPhone was released it was kind of a game changer. The smart watch doesn't seem anywhere as inventive compared to the competition to me. they would never try and sell a completely pointless, embarrassing, ugly and pathetic device that hasn't ever taken off because it's a terrible idea before, and put rubbish tech in it.
Hi applewatch
They'll sell more than all the other brands combined in a heartbeat though so I don't think they'll lose any sleep over it.
but compared to google's glasses it does seem a bit dark ages. Not that I like android in any way shape or form, or the glasses either. but I do get the advancement and market there that just doesn't exist in a watch that does quite little.
now if it had holographic projections or something...
I'm sure there will be changes before its released. The biggest oddity to me was the lack of consideration for lefties wearing it on their right wrist.
Like most things though the mere fact Apple are likely to popularise wearable tech like this should mean the landscape ends up better for everyone even if you don't buy one.
The resurgence of tablets and phone designs in general nowadays can, in a reasonable opinion, be credited to the original iPhone.
Yes Android has had NFC for two years or more, but the iPhone 6 might be the thing that gets it more widely adopted in shops, so Android folk still benefit.
I say that as someone who has both a PC, a MacBook Pro laptop and a Google Nexus phone, so no allegiances here!

Lefties can wear the watch fine... There is an option in the settings that flips the whole display specifically for this purpose. I know it wasn't mentioned in the key note but I've read it in several of the hands on reports.
Agree with the rest of your post. I still remember the reports after the Apple iPad reveal going on about how the tech was a dead end etc and it would never catch on (after all Microsoft had tried previously). And look where we are now. Scary how much influence one companies product releases can have, but at the same time great for the market overall.

Oh no, a new product is released and people compare it to existing products from the competitors. God forbid. I really don't get the "apple is X years behind android" arguments. Let's all oooh and aaah and pre order instead of looking at the new product from a critical pov.
Apple has shown us two phones, one being 5.5 inch. I think a comparison with the Note is inevitable?
Same for the smartwatch they are launching, quite logical to compare it to existing products like the Moto 360 (also just released IIRC), or are those comparisons and questions only allowed if they can in any way be in favor of the Apple gear?
I'm considering buying one outright and going on the best sim free deal I can find.
Currently on EE, their coverage is perfect for me. Voda isn't an option due to coverage and I need to be able to tether and I need 4g.
Was on O2 for years until I swapped to EE 2 years ago.
Has anyone done some research and know the options? I believe you can't tether on Giffgaff unlimited?
The 3 network is shocking round here.

If nothing else then hopefully the iWatch has given momentum to the market in general. Despite being a geek with a scientific calculator watch (yes the 24th button is the recessed 'set' button on the left hand side) I don't have any love for these "smart" watches yet. The displays aren't quite there, although the round ones look interesting, and the packaging is still in the era of my Nokia Communicator rather than the iPhone. Relying on a nearby iDevice for its intelligence is just cheating, and reminds me of Seiko's watch TV from 1982 - which was actually the size of a large Walkman and connected to the watch via a wire that ran down your arm.
I can see why Apple have delayed its development and release for so long, the product doesn't seem quite mature yet, and big name competitors seem to be bringing interesting and innovative products to market.
