I've just noticed the clock app actually ticks round.... Is this an iOS8 thing or iphone 6 thing? I didn't notice it before on my 5S.
I noticed it on my 5 yesterday. Must be an iOS 8 thing.
It's an iOS7 thing.

Ordered from Tesco this morning; got to wait 3-5 days.

Be interesting to see how fast 4G goes as even 3G is bloody quick around us.

UPS suggests 22nd but Apple still suggests end of the month.

Can you please have a look at your UPS page and tell me what weight it's showing (it's in additional information half way down the page)

Thanks
My Apple status used to show 28 Sep - 02 Oct. Now shows 22nd Sep.

Weight is 0.50 kg for both 6 and 6+.
Thanks Marc, that would suggest it is my phone. Apple still says 'Delivers: 30 Sep, 2014 - 03 Oct, 2014 by Standard Shipping'
Just had another email from Apple, my phone is on its way and will be here Monday.

Customers shunning contracts.

http://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/news/2014/09/iphone...

Might explain why the mobile stores were quiet and still had stock whilst the Apple Stores had run out.

Missed out on the pre-orders and couldn't get the morning off from work to go queue up.

What are the chances I can walk into a Carphone Warehouse/EE store this evening and pick a 64gb 6 up?
Id say slim to none.
Lakeside have them in stock. Well, they did a few hours ago. But will be contract only.

Possibly daft question, but would a sim-only contract show up on one's credit score?

Reason I ask is that my current mobile contract is the only credit item I currently have, and would obviously like maintain that for the sake of maintaining a good credit history.

3 do a 12 month sim only contract that requires a credit rating check. You should be fine.

Luckily my parents are heading back to Hong Kong next month for a holiday. The equivalent iPhone 6 64GB is a good £119 cheaper than in the UK. It's unbelievable how much UK customers are fleeced.

You can currently get up to £275 through O2 recycling so I'd take a look at that first....

Yes. You get credit checked for a Sim Only.

So, first day impressions. I like.

Small subtle changes to iOS 8 are nice, I used voice activation 3 times today to send texts and call people, because I didn't have to touch the phone at all. I've never used Siri that much in my life.

The size really isn't that bad, I held my 5S with 2 hands when typing anyway so no big deal.

The predictive text above the keyboard is a nice feature if a bit hit and miss.

Battery is noticeably better, took it off charge at 11, used all day and still at 57%!!

So folks with their new toys, are they any good then?

Slightly O/T, are Apple releasing new iPads any time soon? Was thinking of getting one, maybe around Christmas time.
Next month they will be released.

It's no surprise people are buying iPhones out of contract. I think they've pushed this as far as they can now with 24 months contracts. Anyone with the ability to do simple maths can see these deals are poor value and for anyone that has 500 quid available, it's a no brainer.

My only gripe is the new location of the lock button, it's a bit cumbersome in comparison to the old button on top!!
