Well you're only half correct, he's paying that for his phone and the usage for it.
I spend £1000 a year on my mobiles. Doesn't bother me as they get used enough.
Yes and no. The business pays. If I went sim only and bought upfront it would be £1100 over 2 years. I spend £1000 a year on my mobiles. Doesn't bother me as they get used enough.
My current phone has lasted me 3.5 years so I'm doing ok.

Can anyone comment on the speed of the 6 vs the 5S? 5Ss are going for about £450-£500 brand new on EBay and I'm very tempted as the 6 is just too big. I've got a 4S at the moment.
I'm not sure how you'd measure it. Iv'e gone from a 5S to 6. Seems roughly the same. Home wifi is around 30Mbps - the 5S ran on that, as does the 6.NDA said:

Do not update your iPhone 6 or 6+ to 8.0.1 OTA or you are going to have a bad day. (no service, no touch id)
I believe they already pulled the update anyway.
Yeah, I updated and once it was done I got no service and touch ID wasn't working. After looking at idownloadblog's website I reverted back to iOS 8. Quite easy but I did get pretty stressed before I found a fix. I believe they already pulled the update anyway.

because samsung make plastic ste. serious who sits down with a phone in your pocket. mines in my man purse
My "plastic ste" phone lives in my pocket, as did the last one, both have been dropped, and I dare say sat on once or twice. Neither have bent and all upgrades have been trouble free.Just saying like.
I have to admit this whole pocket thing is stupid. You are buying a huge slim very expensive phone. Why would you put it in your pocket for a extended period of time? Its made of aluminium it WILL bend its common sense. When I am in the office my phone is on my desk, if I am driving its in the slot under my radio, if im at home its on my side table. For one having something that large in your pocket (fnar fnar) is bloody uncomfortable anyway.
I agree things should be built for purpose but you cant have something made out of a light weight metal, be thin and not be flexable.

Where else would you put it? Surely Apple can't expect everyone who buys their phone to then conform to where they think it should be? The number of people I see with phones in pockets is astounding. I have always kept my phone in my front pockets and my iPhone 4, S3 and HTC One (M8) have suffered no adverse issues because of it.I agree things should be built for purpose but you cant have something made out of a light weight metal, be thin and not be flexable.
The only one that suffered was the Palm Pre - But that was a st phone....

Thanks (and to the other poster above). To be honest, if it seems similar that's good enough for me!

A 32GB 5S is available new from apple for £500, so can't see much point in using eBay.The next problem is finding a kosher seller.. quite a few have very bad feedback!

If there are any inherent design issues with the iPhone 6 & 6 plus, I'm not excusing them, but equally whether front or back pocket, sitting down with a large, slim device made of alu & glass probably isn't the brightest of ideas.
I don't sit down with my Glalaxy S3, partly because it's an unweildy thing to have in your trouser pocket while sitting down, and partly because on the occasions I have sat down with it, I can feel the pressure being exerted on it, so would rather not risk damaging the phone.

I think we need an independent source to try and bend these phone with a pressure machine, just in order to know what the extent of the "issue" is. The same "issue" was there when they launched the 5, never to be heard again a month later. If there are any inherent design issues with the iPhone 6 & 6 plus, I'm not excusing them, but equally whether front or back pocket, sitting down with a large, slim device made of alu & glass probably isn't the brightest of ideas.

So the question is: is the 6 really any easier to bend than the S4, LG G3, HTC One, iP5,... ? Before calling this an issue.
I watched this last night - http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/24/iphone-6-subje...
I kept thinking that if I applied the same pressure to my SGS3, I would probably break or similarly damage it.
My screen and the radios are f*cked, hence why I'm after a 6, so I was actually half tempted to try it but chickened out in the end!

Every phone I've ever had has lived in my pocket. Because that is where phones go. People suggesting they should be stored elsewhere are apologists.
My smartphone history is - G1 > Desire > Galaxy S3So I'm no Apple apologist, I just don't sit down with my phone in my pocket for the reasons I gave above. I could have gotten away with it with the G1 & Desire, but not the S3 - too uncomfortable, and like I said, I can feel the pressure on the phone.

It's not designed to have bending forces applied to it.
If that's true, Jony Ive's a useless tt.Are you calling Jony Ive a useless tt?
I've just ordered 3 iPhone 6's via our business phone provider so when I manage to bend mine I'll let you know just how useless...
