If it's mint, take it back to apple. Should still be within 14 days? (JUST!)
I'd have to go tomorrow as I got it on launch day! Haha.

It's not really their problem to sort out though it's just I think I've changed my mind. I'll try and sell it.
But Apples return policy is quite clear that they allow you to return if you change your mind. It must work for them, as more people must buy (and subsequently keep it) on the understanding they can return it if its not suitable. I would certainly go down this route rather than ebay and their fees (10%)/potential of being scammed. I have just returned my 6 because I find it too unwieldy and not as ergonomic as my 5, but apart from that it's a lovely bit of kit.

In fact it's less than 2½ years since it came out.
Apologies

Can I buy an iPhone outright sim free from the Apple store and then set it all up with my various accounts via Wifi as I will have to wait a while for my smaller sim?

Or is it a case of no sim, it's a brick?
I set my 6 up without an active SIM, restored from my old 4S via iTunes without any issues. From memory I think i could also surf etc until the SIM was activated
Yeah, I've set up a few 6's and a 6+ now. No need for a SIM to set it all up, but you will need a WiFi signal or iTunes on an internet connected PC/Mac instead.

Still can't decide whether to get a 6+ or a Z3 as my next upgrade, which is already overdue.

Thanks. I was playing with one at the Apple Store and I noticed in the settings that you can sync it to Google so as an Android user with Macs at home, getting my contacts and my calender on an iPhone should be a doddle.

i have a space grey 64Gb 5s on eBay currently... i've only had 50 requests to end the listing early so it's not attracting enough interest. I'm wondering whether I might hang on to it after all as it's the last of the Jobs era iPhone. Maybe it can only appreciate smile
I've been watching a few and it seems that a new or nearly new one is worth about £500!
Less than that I think. More like £400. Mine had a couple of scratches so it's more like £350. I've just had to relist it due to an utter murder victim of a fktard timewaster.

I reckon the 5 / 5S will be seen as the Zenith in the iPhone line up in a few years time, its the the perfect size / performance IMO

well it won't remain perfect performance, but yes tend to agree. It will certainly be a design classic if the iPhone lineage goes downhill

People still proclaim the iPhone 4 as the pinnacle of iPhone design. They haven't lived with the 5 or 6.

I think the Zenith was reached with the iPhone 1. It was a massive kick in the nuts to everyone else. The incremental steps since, have been what was required to stay in tune with the apple consumers. I still have my iPhone 1. I just can't bring myself to get rid of it.

well you probably should keep hold of it now anyway, monetary value today as opposed to in a few years, or the coolness value of owning one at that point. I've got an early iPod somewhere.

Nope, too small. The 7 will be overkill and everyone will proclaim the 6 to be the last bastion of iPhone perfection.

well, i wasn't being entirely serious. However important milestones of technology do become collectible curios.

The original iPhone might fall into that category, the 5S however?

Might seem silly now but the first and the peak in any iconic thing's lineage are significant. Anyway I'm flogging mine.

The Samsung S3 felt huge after my HTC Desire yet you can still operate it with one hand. You just have to do a dodgy balancing act twixt your little finger and thumb. In two years I haven't dropped it this way but have come close.

Stupidly it was sitting on my car seat the other day and I got out forgetting it was there, so it flew and fell face first on the pavement. This has happened before with no damage but this time there was a huge bolt sticking out of the concrete so smashed glass was the result.

For two weeks my 6+ has been preparing for dispatch. Would I be naive to think that the hold up is because they're strengthening the outer shell to make it less bendy?

Disruption in China? Perhaps they get shipped out via Hong Kong.

I'd have thought it unlikely, given that it was 9 out of 10 million phones. Even if that figure isn't accurate and only one in ten owners with bent phones approached Apple about it (unlikely with a £600 phone!), it would still be just one in a million. I doubt Apple would go to the trouble of changing the cases on that many phones - they'd likely re-design and put an updated model into production and then deal with the 1 in a million warranty claims as and when they occur - far cheaper and far more sensible.
