Picked up a new one today. Seems a lot better than the 4s that its replacing. Any recommendations for "must have" apps?

I wouldn't say that there any "must have apps" for instance I don't use any of the above. The main things available to apps that weren't on your 4s are the motion coprocessor, so anything recording location/movement etc, uses less battery than on your old one, which may ope up some more app choices. There aren't any real killer features for the NFC or TocuhID yet, but they are coming.

Well, my 6 plus survived it's first serious drop with aplomb today - from about 4 feet, bouncing off a metal shelf and landing face down on a concrete floor.

Tiny little crack in the bezel that's barely noticeable, and a small scuff on the corner.

My 6 plus lasts at least 2 days. Even gassing for hours I've never run it down in less than 1.5 days

Blimey, wish mine did. It's definitely an improvement over the 5s it replaced but its always near dead by the end of a day, and it's usually connected to the truck via us. Whenever I'm out. Admittedly i probably spend more time using it than is typical.

Maybe it's just luck. I was very particular to fully charge and fully discharge it 10 or so times before topping it up. My old iphone 4 still going strong too apart from the home button being a bit random.

Got the option of a 6 or a 6 plus - I'm thinking the plus would just be too big to be practical for me though. Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks

Depends. The 6 plus is perfect for me. I have hands like shovels. It is so practical that I no longer really need my iPad.

The extra screen space is great for my mapping apps for example. "Reachability" means you can get to the top row of icons one handed if you must - but really it's a two hands device for working the touchscreen. IT DOES NOT GO IN YOUR POCKET. I carry mine in a little man-bag as I can't abide anything in my pockets.

If a girl you cannot tuck it into your bra either which, I am informed, some ladies do with smaller devices.

If you must put it in your pocket don't get the plus - get the smaller phone.

I'm not a small person, and I think I would struggle with the size of the 6+, but I guess they are selling, so they must be practical.

I agree with Don, I have a 6+ and find it to be ideal size-wise (I haven't used my iPad for months) but it isn't a device for a trouser pocket.

I had a 6+ and went back and bought a 6. The + is a great phone with a really stunning screen, but it was just a bit fragile feeling for me.

The 6+ does fit in my pockets, but I guess I don't wear fashionable jeans. But it is massive. (I refer to it as the GigataPhone). If you have human sized hands, you'll need both to use it. However, I find it's worth it for the size of the screen.

I just switched from a 6 to a 6 Plus. The first noticeable difference apart from the size is the increased battery life. Keep the screen brightness around 50% and the phone will last two days before having to recharge.

The screen is gorgeous and the increased phone size isn't an issue IMO.

Very happy with it.

Well I think I've pretty average sized hands and I use my 6+ one-handed most of the time. Perhaps my hands are bigger than I realised...

My work phone which is an S4 needs charging daily, my 6+ only twice a week. It was partly the battery life that sold it to me in the first place but I certainly wouldn't want a smaller 6 instead, even if the battery life was equal, which it isn't by quite some margin.

Dropped my 6 today and smashed the screen frown impressedhow many pieces it broke into, yet the phone still works.

Thanks for the feedback. The screen is plenty big enough on my 5 and I often have no option but to put phone into trouser pockets - I think the normal 6 is for me.

Cheers chaps and /\ sorry to hear about the damage.

I got used to it in days, I can't use anything else now. I had a 5S for my second phone and it just felt awful after using the 6+.

Borrowed the little one's iPhone 4S the other day, felt like I was using a fisher price toy biggrin

My PoS iPhone now has the front camera cresent, battery issues (once below 30%, it goes very quickly), and now the wifi seems shot.

I want to get it swapped. No doubt I'll have to jump through hoops...
